If you like nature, this is a good stop for you! You can hire horses to ride thru the paved pathways or just walk, It is better to go early morning before the bugs really start biting. I would get some strong replellent regardless.

“Great nature walk!!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

We can't wait to go back. Although the alligators in the ponds next to our path were a bit freaky, that made it all the more memorable.

“Perfect Place to view Nature”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

This is a wonderful, peaceful, well maintained trail through a Forest Preserve. There is no cost to park and/or walk through. The trails are very easy to navigate. Along the way are alligators, huge turtles, birds of all varieties, a lovely flower garden (in season), two small lakes, AND a small pavilion with porta-potties nearby. The trees are magnificent. You can ride your bikes, walk, or drive your car. Unless you're handicapped, walking or biking are the best ways to enjoy this park. Great place to visit in Sea Pines, also one of our favorite spots.

“It's okay”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Just okay. Walking paths are fine if you feel like dodging horse poo the whole time. I would recommend checking out Pinckney island before this preserve. It's got more wildlife and no doodie.

“A walk to remember”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We walked to see the birds. We could not take our bikes in, but it was a beautiful day and well worth it. We walked to see the bird island. You drive in if you come in from the opposite side of the walking entrance.
