Do not miss The Indian Shell Ring - the site of a 4,000-year old Indian Village - it was the highlight of our "boy's only" trip.

bike trails, car trails here and there. the setting is lovely, and the smell of the pines in wonderful. populated enough daytime and very safe. watch the kids near the waterways as there are a few alligators here and there, but they kept their distance and none were aggressive. very nice bike ride.

Very nice, quiet place. You can take a picnic or fish if you wish. I expect you would see more birds in the spring. We did see some really large alligators.

We checked this place out while at HHI back in April, and really enjoyed it! Some things to remember though, Get a map, this place place is pretty big, and easy to get lost in. The day we went was gorgeous outside, so we really got to take alot in. Places to fish are plentiful, although we didnt do any. Our favorite was probably the alligator sightings, theyre everywhere! lots of places to picnic, and great for walking and just unwinding. It has kind of a mountain get-away feel to it, you forget that you are even close to a beach, really reminded us alot of home in East Tennessee. Make sure and take the camera, lots of wildlife to see, and also some great nature photography.

My wife and I walk daily and found this to be a very scenic and peaceful place to get some exercise. Make sure you get a map at the entrance so you don't get lost. If you like to fishe there are alot of lakes you can fish but you need to stop at the security gate to get a pass. Overall it's a nice way to soend a couple of hours.
