We really loved our vacation at Hilton Head island in shipyard plantation. We really liked the location, it was very close to everything. The house was amazing and we cannot wait for our vacation next year.
This was our first winter stay on HHI and after a very disappointing vacation rental situation in Sea Pines, we rented this home from Mark in the Shipyard neighborhood. We immediately realized we should have stayed here the whole time! This house has a wonderful layout and is perfect for couples or families. The variety of outdoor spaces...screened porch, large open deck, pool with lots of seating and a huge yard make this a very unique vacation home. Mark definitely knows what it takes to be a vacation rental owner and was very quick to respond to any questions or issues that came up. We are planning to visit this home again soon and will also recommend it to our friends and family who visit HHI in the future. Thanks goes to Mark for his hospitality!
Hilton Head is our go to vacation spot. This is approximately our 8th trip to the island. The island is beautiful. You are sheltered from the Carolina heat by the shade of palm trees throughout the island. We have experienced various types of rentals on the island - condos; villas; and houses - including the Marriott. This by far has been "THE BEST". The house is modern and everything is good working condition, but it has a cozy feel. It is decorated in an island theme that highlights the unique character if the island. The kitchen is high end and fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a quick bite or elaborate meal. There is lots of natural light which makes you feel like you are always experiencing the beauty of the island even when you are just lounging around. There are many walking and bike trails right outside the house. You can vacation and experience the island from your front door. We even met a neighbor and our pets enjoyed some playtime together.
Mark was "great". He prompted responded to any inquires and was genuinely concerned with the quality of our stay. My only regret is that this is my last evening here. We were scheduled to check our today to travel to Asheville to see the eclipse. Mark was able to accommodate us for an additional nite so that we could see the eclipse here on the island. This was no hassle, no problem.
We arrived after a drive from Charleston that day, and were immediately impressed.
House was large with a lovely outside balcony , plus a sceened off internal balcony to get away from the insects if you were having a meal.
However we spent very little time there.
Outside was a really nice pool with lots of furniture to use, and we made good use of this area. Many pool items were also provided.
The rear of the home backed on to a golf course, which made it really quiet and private, overall location was excellent.
Inside was very well fitted out with virtually everything you needed ,also of high quality.
We were impressed with the sound system also first class.
However wi-fi was really poor, but not a major issue as cell signal was quite good.
Most impressive was the compendium that the owner had prepared, with lots of good information on both the house and the local area, with bits of good humour included, well done!
There was a grill which we used quite a bit and that worked well.
The main beach was a short drive away and was also very nice.
Parking could be an issue perhaps on the weekends.
This place has easy access to many places to eat as well.
Overall I would come back here anytime in the future,as this place compares well to many places we have stayed at not only in the US but also around the world.
Beautuful home with everything you may need already furnished, even a beach caddy. Looks just like the pictures, very nice, quiet neighborhood, close to everything!
We had never been to HH so we were thrilled to find this house was so perfectly located to shops and restaurants. We arrived after a 10 hour drive to a house perfect for our family of 5. Their clean sheets and towels made it easier to travel with less, plus all the fixins in the kitchen. The owners give lots of details on how to take care of the house, and it was appreciated. The house was perfectly located for bike trails with the kiddos. But the highlight for our family was 24/7 access to the heated pool. We also discovered Monopoly thanks to the game drawer! If we head back to HH, we'd love to stay again.
