We had high hopes for this rental property. Sadly, it was a somewhat tired place desperately in need of a lick of paint. It was very dark in the property due to the trees immediately outside and quite close to the property blocking the sun. Cobwebs were a less than attractive feature of the property. While the property was generally clean enough, the furnishings were shabby and the garden furniture dangerously rotten and in need of replacement. The carpets were badly stained and there didn't appear to have been any attempt to clean them. The beds in the smaller rooms were instruments of torture, rock hard with springs that made turning over during the night an adventure. Amazingly, there were no wardrobes apart from a large cupboard by the bathroom that had to suffice for four people. Anyone going to the Lower Mill Estate, where this property is situated, should be aware that there appears to be a system operating whereby those staying in the older and less valuable sections of the estate don't get to enjoy all of the facilities. We tried to visit the on site spa but we're told that as we were renting in the less salubrious part of the estate and as the owner hadn't 'upgraded' we were persona non grata and admission was refused which we found embarrassing. To cap it all, the next door neighbour was, in my opinion, an extremely miserable and unhappy, moaning, chap who objected to us parking in 'his' space even though it was empty much of the time and even though we moved it as soon as requested. The immediate area was nice and very picturesque. The newer parts of the estate had some beautiful houses and great modern architecture. Pubs in the area do good food and beer. Luckily, we had good weather. If it had rained I doubt we would have stayed long. We made the best of it all but I wouldn't return to this property or to the Lower Mill Estate.

We stayed at Tennyson House for 3 months with our children. We would recommend the cottage for short and longer term stays. The Cottage is in a quiet and idyllic location for walking, jogging enjoying rich wildlife and much more. The cottage has broadband internet connection which is very handy. The Cottage is well located to provide a good base as Cirencester is only 10 minutes by car and access to major road routes is good.
Dexter is a very supportive landlord and will promptly help resolve and questions that arise.
We would definitely recommend Tennyson House to you.
