Review of Kalmia Gardens

Kalmia Gardens
Ranked #1 of 23 things to do in Hartsville
Attraction details

If you are into a lot of walking trails then this is for you. If not, then don't bother going. We stopped by for a few minutes just to see the old house and small garden that is located near the parking lot. I'm sure they had some pretty scenery of the miles and miles of walking trails, but with two young children and an older adult we didn't brave them. I wouldn't rate this as one of the best things there is to see, but Hartsville doesn't have too many things to see so if you have time to kill then check it out.

There's flowers and plants galore. I've known many weddings that have happened here. It's just plain beautiful to walk around and see the colors and nature everywhere.

Beautiful, peaceful, quiet and a nice break from a busy day. Their is no admission charged to visit the gardens.

This is a great little gem found in Hartsville. Kalmia is actually owned by Coker College, and houses great woody trails for a peaceful get away from life. Walk down to Black Creek and watch the fish pass by. Listen to the babble of the water as it laps by while you take in all that nature has for you in this secluded area of the world. Unlike normal "gardens" this is a more "natural" garden...the way God intended!

My husband and I like day tripping on our motorcycle and on a lovely crisp fall day in November we were off from Camden to the gardens. We found walking the pathways calming and the beautiful camillas were amazing with their vivid colors and full flowers. No wonder they are nick named winter roses!
