Close to home, this is a convenient place to eat and we enjoy the food as well as the staff. Sometimes it is so very busy but they work hard at cleaning tables as quick as they are available to accommodate the crowds. The food is hot, fresh and tasty.

The menu is basic, wide, and good. Everything from pancakes to omelets to hamburgers to the lunch special - all served with a smile. The minute we walked in, we knew this was a "local" place. Everyone seemed to know everyone else. And, it wasn't like we were different. When one of the waitresses started talking about spoiling her husband and a local chimed in, we were included in the conversation. The food was good, the portions were large, the service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is large and airy with many tables and booths to choose from. We will definitely come again next time we are there.

Had heard good reviews and decided to have breakfast there. The restaurant was not crowded but service was slow. Eggs and hash browns were cold. sausage was overcooked and not edible. The biscuit was thin and hard as a rock. Ate what little I could, paid the bill and left. My guest had the sausage gravy and biscuits and ate three fork fulls. Not a pleasant experience.

Yes indeedy...Stax has the BEST pancakes in Greenville. This is a Saturday morning 'treat' when I am in Greenville and it never disappoints!

I had heard a lot about Stax's Original and took my mom and a friend of her's here for breakfast. The service was slow and while not rude, not all that friendly. There was a puddle of grease on my plate and the sausage was barely warm.
