“Be Warned!!”
Reviewed February 19, 2014 via mobile

When one walks into Chophouse 47, it is like going back in time, the place reeks of tobacco!! The smell permeates the entire restaurant, not only the bar. It truly spoiled a nice evening, the food and service were great.

They need to let prospective diners know that the smell of the past will be with them through their meal.

“The Peter Luger of the South”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

We chose Chophouse 47 as the perfect place to have our third wedding anniversary along with our best man and maid of honor. We had been there once before and this again was an absolute joy of dining. It was their first time there for them and they are keen to return. The food, the service and ambiance are beyond professional. It is a little pricey but that is because the food and service are in the fine dining range. The only other dining experience I had this good was at Peter Luger's in Brooklyn, NY.
I had read a previous review by Time Traveler1950 and all I can say is maybe he better stick to McDonalds. This is service at its utmost and worthy of a hefty tip.
If you are looking for the ultimate dining experience, Chophouse 47 is a must. Bon appetit.

“Excellent Food ”
Reviewed January 17, 2014 via mobile

The Good:
This is one of the best places to enjoy a Filet that you could cut with a fork. The flavor is incredible and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend trying the 6 dollar slice of bacon. Its pricey but worth it!!
They allow smoking in the bar section and it does roll over to the dining section. Only when cigars are being smoked could it really impact your experience.

“Super steak and atmosphere”
Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

This was the 2nd time eating here and I wasn't disappointed. As always, you can tell a difference in "prime" meats. The barrel cut filet was so tender and cooked perfectly. The sides are generous in size so two can share. On a previous visit, we had several bottles of really good wine so you can find what you are looking for. Whether it's a stags leap, Caymus , groth, they have it. Also, if you like cigars, the bar area is friendly for cigar smokers and they can be purchased. If you don't like the smell, they have tables at the fat end of restraunt. Prepare to spend some $$ but it's with a visit. I will return.
