A passion for detail was certainly noticed in the white "leaf" design as dived my nose into a large frothy mug of cafe mocha. The stuffed french toast accented with cinnamon, cranberries, and fresh gala apples blended perfectly with both the maple syrup and its accompanied honey cream cheese filling. The red room environment had all the attributes, romantic but causal, energetic but quiet enough for a good conversion, and great decor. One last treat was the free WiFi, which i have to say puts the icing on the cake for me. This place was great and I look forward to returning!

My family had breakfast at Coffee Underground before a busy day moving our son in at Furman. Our breakfast entree was merely average and we apparently were too early for table service on a Sunday (9AM). Sunday brunch and table service does not begin until 9:30AM.

Trendy downstairs spot with good coffee and desserts. Tried it for lunch and hit a few problems. The excellent cheese, fruit, and cracker appetizer was served at the same time as our meal instead of before so everything came at once. I had the fish and chips which were ordinary frozen fish planks, nice and hot, but the fries were limp and only just warm. It was supposed to come with "ginger slaw" but did not. My husband had the quiche which he said was "very good". Desserts continue to be very good and the ambience is outstanding! Feels like the "Pearl District" of Portland, Oregon!

In central downtown within walking distance from our hotel. Great breakfast of omelet bowl and sausage, egg, and cheese bagel with wonderful coffee and English breakfast tea. Hip atmosphere.

Coffee Underground is simply a staple of downtown Greenville. Most people can't remember a time when it wasn't here, but the owners (and now owner) haven't rested on their laurels. They have a theater for small local productions, they display local artists, and have three rooms of seating. That isn't to say that the atmosphere is lacking since this is a basement which makes it feel more intimate with low ceilings and exposed brick. The sound level is low and the seating gives you plenty of room as a coffee house should. The coffee is top notch as are the pastries and desserts. They also have a limited selection of cooked meals, but it is really all about the coffee. If you have been to Seattle and miss the small coffee house feel, this is for you. It is also open late and a great place to have a dessert and coffee after eating downtown.
