“Who needs frills...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

...when the food is this good? The Pita House is now a Greenville institution and, even though we've lived within 30 miles, as far away as 1100 miles and now 150 miles away, we've never missed an opportunity to eat at the Pita House when we're anywhere near Greenville. They've kept the same great quality and more than reasonable prices the entire time, even after having to expand their seating capacity and adding a great grocery store (also incredibly reasonably priced). The Middle Eastern Plate is really hard to pass up - it just has a bit of everything you want, the meat of your choice, hummus, falafel and tahini (though they'll happily substitute tabouli instead). The kibbi and grape leaves is a fabulous choice and so are the kabobs. And, good lord! Don't leave without sampling one (or several) of their wonderful, flaky, perfectly (meaning not too) sweet pastries. As a bonus, they really know how to make great iced tea, too - also perfectly sweet. Order at the counter, have a seat and, before you know it, you'll have a bit of middle eastern heaven sitting in front of you. You'll leave saying, "Kenit taybé, y'all!" (at least I hope that means "It was delicious!"

“Best for carry out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

Very good food and has variety in the menu. The place needs some remodeling; ambient run down and depressing. The service carry out and the value for the money you spent it is worth it,

“Great”

Bring cash.
Local gem that is busy every day of the week. Never had a bad meal. Usually get the falafel with hummus sandwich (in a pita) as they basically put an entire falafel plate inside a homemade pita. It's crazy delicious! It's extremely inexpensive and really fast.

“Good Food Good People”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

Eat there moderately often, and have tried EVERYTHING on the menu at some point. Depends on your taste, but it's all good...to great. Could eat the mjadra every day! Don't expect fancy - you are paying a local family to do what they do - cook good food, not serve it on fancy china and bring you over-priced water. For $10 you can have a GREAT lunch, and get spices at the attached store that you literally can not find anywhere else in Greenville.

“Best Middle Eastern Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Our family has been eating at the Pita House for 20 years and never been disappointed. We use them for take out when we have family gatherings and everyone loves their food. My special favorites are their stuffed squash and grape leaves, kabobs, mjadra (lentils), homemade pita bread and desserts. Run by the nicest people in the world. Going there is like going home to family. Their desserts are scrumptious! They even have a grocery.
