“Food Memories”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

With many restaurants to choose from on Main Street in downtown Greenville, we wandered into Ristorante Bergamo again recently because of the lasting memories it creates of its Italian food, enjoyed with special people. The antipasto and most notably the mussels and shrimp in broth, along with red wine and my favored Peroni, made for a memorable food evening.

“Didn't live up to expectations”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

We've lived in Greenville for almost 8 years and always wanted to try this one as we've heard good things. Last Friday we had a date night out and went to try it out. Our waiter was very nice and the table was in the front window so we could watch all of downtown walking by.

We were told that everything was made to order and that it could take some extra time. We told them we had 2 hours and that was just fine.

I had the Cappaccio which was very cold and not the typical bright pink you would expect. It seemed and tasted like it had been premade and just pulled out of the frig or freezer and had some cheese and oil added ontop. Not exactly what I was hoping for. My wife had a beauitful salad and realy enjoyed it.

For my main entree I decided upon the Fettine Di Vitello (Veal). It just wasn't great or memorable. The breading was soggy and the veal definitely fully cooked.the sauce was okay but again, nothing memorable. My wife had the fish special of the day and was happy with it.

We decided to leave after these courses and try something else for dessert as downtown has so many options.

All and all, I'm just being honest and have to say that it was Average and not the memorable experience that I was hoping for.

“Best risotto around”
Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

After eating another restaurants attempt at white truffle risotto I remembered how good the risotto here was. That's saying a lot. Eat here, you will not regret it.

“Always good!”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

We have been dining in Ristorante Bergamo for over 15+ years and the food is always the same.....FABULOUS!..you can dress up or go in for dinner dressed casual and either way, the service is friendly and helpful. The wine list is varied in price and selection. The bread if the best in any restaurant in Greenville...there are always featured specials of the evening. No matter what you order, the meal flavors are delightful and come from the kitchen piping hot. Nello gets an A+ for combining freshness and flavor in whatever he cooks up!!!

“A Local's Opinion”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

We just love this place...great wait staff (Daniel and Karrie) are fabulous with a complete knowledge of the preparation of all menu items including the great special's provided by chef/owner Nello...a focus on Northern Italian dishes, the veal dishes are incredible and when Nello has the Special NY Strip steak drizzled with truffle oil, drop everything and get it! It's always delicious...and as a finale, they serve the best key lime pie in Greenville.
