Great place centrally located next to hotels with competitive prices. Menu has a broad selection of traditional Mexican dishes and the service was attentive. Salsa and chips are free! Beer is very cold.

“Go there. Go there soon.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

This is truly fine Mexican for a large-scale, mid-priced chain.

We've been twice, each time with another family. First time was just amazing. This last time was good, but not in the amazing category.

Drinks are phenomenal. I've only had the Ultimate Margarita, but it's something special.

Food is rich and flavorful. Service was a tad spotty this last time around. Our server was very friendly and tried to be helpful, but seemed forgetful and several times, people in our party got their orders mixed up, or couldn't get special items (like extra hot sauce) brought upon request. On our first visit, our waiter went into the back and brought us some extra-hot salsa which was just amazing. This time, another server brought very hot salsa with our chips that a couple of our party couldn't eat, then delivered a much milder version to the table mid-meal. That was a little odd.

It always seems busy at dinner time and around town it seems to have a very high reputation.

I'd definitely go back.

“Average for this type of restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2014

The food was average. You do get a good serving of velvetta type cheese. Service was average, but I did notice the larger tables received better service.

“Best Mexican food in the Upstate..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

My wife and I have dined at dozens of different mexican restaurants in the upstate. La Parrilla is now, in our opinion, the Best of the Best. We were tired of the cookie cutter menus featured in other restaurants. Although La Parrilla does have a few 'combination' meals, the bulk of the menu is uniquely prepared plates. One of us has ordered the tilapia and shrimp every visit. We can't help ourselves.. Five stars...

“It was okay....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

The food was okay... I must admit I've had better Mexican food. They seemed to cover everything in a funny tasting "Velvetta"-ish cheese sauce? At least my enchiladas were swimming in it... not the usual red sauce. At least there is a plus for this restaurant, the Margaritas were good!
