We are one sushi lover and one not so much and it worked out great. To start, we had the P.E.I. Mussels in Coconut Curry Sauce appetizer. My spouse doesn't like mussels, something she's never tasted of course, and if she were only going to try them once I could not have picked a better dish. Wow wow wow. I had the Sushi and Sashimi Dinner and she had the Teriyaki Dinner with shrimp. The only issue I had with the entire meal was the house made soy sauce. It was very chemical tasting, almost like the bottle had detergent left behind in it. I tried to explain but was told the taste is personal preference and was brought a commercial brand. Oh well, I was happy with that and the sushi and sashimi were excellent. It's a huge amount of food by the way. The teriyaki dish can be made with your choice of protein and the result was not what I expected. The sauce is creamy and very subtle and just absolutely delicious. The miso and house salad were both good and the house ginger dressing for the salad is the best ginger dressing I've ever had. We were going to finish with mango pie, it's reputedly wonderful, but they were out! We had to settle for the Key Lime Mousse Pie. Trust me, forget the mango pie. This is the way Key Lime Pie should be done. Purple has a reputation for being slow but we did not find this to be the case at all. The service was excellent. We'll definitely be back.
