Description: The Lazy Goat is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East and a relaxed atmosphere where taking the time to "linger and share" is encouraged. The diverse menu was created to accommodate a variety of diner preferences with meat & cheese plates, small plates to “graze and nibble,” and main dishes. Guests are invited to take their time while "trying a little bit of that and a little bit of that" or a "whole lot of whatever they like".

We were given a gift certificate to the Lazy Goat. We had certainly heard of the restaurant but never gone there. Have we ever missed out!!!!! The food was wonderful, the service great and the setting beautiful. We had the Lazy paella. The coffee was fresh pressed if a bit pricey for one cup which is all I wanted ($6) It was so good. We can't wait to go back. This may be one of our new favorites.

Love this place and always take out of Towner’s here because of the view of the river and some of the best tapas in Greenville. Have sat at the bar with excellent service from Drew and once in the dinning area. The Brussels sprouts are excellent and the fried goat balls were also delish. The Truffle Fries with house made ketchup are yummy and the Moroccan Chicken salad wrap is also amazing. People in our party had the mussels and calamari and really enjoyed them both. They have one of the best Spanish white wines I have ever tasted. I ordered it by the ¼ carafe, and it was a different kind of sauvignon. (Sorry, can’t remember the name) Their sangria’s are also very refreshing. Place is always busy and they usually have special occasions in the upstairs dinning area every time we have been there. Kind of upscale, so dress the part. Jeans are accepted, but I was uncomfortable wear them.

After reading lots of rave reviews we went expecting something pretty great. What we got was the opposite. We were seated in a large room behind the bar, and overlooking the river. The tables are really really far apart, which instead of being a good thing, gives the room the look of a meeting room that someone put a few tables in. Some tablecloths would have helped with the bare wood tabletops. The table was not cleaned off prior to our being seated, and it was so dark with one tiny candle we had to ask for another just to try and read the menu. As people left at the tables near us, their dirty dishes were allowed to linger for quite some time, also adding to the ambiance :(
Food wise, very disappointing. The only dish that was good was the roasted brussel sprouts, delish. Beet salad was good, but honestly, it's hard to screw up beets and goat cheese. The lamb shank wasn't meltingly tender, which it should be, and didn't have much flavor. Still hungry, we ordered the crispy chicken and waffles, but sent it back when it came as it was deep fried, which wasn't mentioned on the menu, and looked extremely unhealthy and not even good. Fried chicken tenders?? Then we had to ask where the pizza was and found out the server forgot to put in the order, and it took forever. More greens on top than anything else, not even that good. And the fried cheese balls w honey? Eh. Basically fried cheese, not great cheese, not great flavor, and if you're going to eat something that unhealthy it better be worth the artery clogging experience. Not so. Oh, the martini was great. But that was it. Not worth going back for EVER.

We recently ate dinner at this lovely restaurant overlooking the Reedy River in downtown Greenville. Anytime you can get dinner for three and dessert with that kind of view for under $50, the place is a winner in my book!

We all had different varieties of pizza and the portions were large enough to take leftovers back to our hotel room. But the brownie dessert with goat ice cream was the best! I thought my husband was going to lick the plate!

Great service, great views of the river and the Peace Center. We hope to go again in the future when our travels take us back to Greenville! Maybe next time we can enjoy the alfresco dining (it was pouring while we were there!).

Loved this place. We went here the first night we got to Greenville and were not disappointed. Our favorite dishes were the pork belly and the white bean purée. Omg so good! The service was subpar. My water ran out and she was slow, but she was very nice.
