Description: The Lazy Goat is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East and a relaxed atmosphere where taking the time to "linger and share" is encouraged. The diverse menu was created to accommodate a variety of diner preferences with meat & cheese plates, small plates to “graze and nibble,” and main dishes. Guests are invited to take their time while "trying a little bit of that and a little bit of that" or a "whole lot of whatever they like".

We enjoyed an early dinner on a recent Friday at the Lazy Goat, which overlooks the river and the Peace Center in downtown Greenville. The views are among the loveliest in the city, and there isn't a bad table in the house! We were entertained by the ducks in the river who were also having dinner until the geese flew in and chased them away.

Then there's the food and wine - a menu with a definite Mediterranean flair! We started with several tapas - Serrano ham, cheeses, moussaka, brussel sprouts, lamb shank, and added in a Cuban pizza and a salmon entree. Luckily, our hotel had an in-room mini fridge, because the portions were large and we took several to-go boxes when we left. We also loved the very reasonable wine list, which is heavily slanted to Spanish wines. It's possible to order by the glass, by ¼ or 1/2 carafes, or a whole bottle, so we had the opportunity to try several different ones with all of our small plates. Caroline, our server was excellent, and she even brought us a few wine samples so we could choose the ones we liked the best!

One more thing - the brussel sprouts are amazing just like everybody says. They're roasted and then flash fried with a sherry reduction, and I highly recommend them.

Greenville is fast becoming a haven for foodies, and a trip to the Lazy Goat won’t disappoint! Reservations recommended!

We had lunch at The Lazy Goat in downtown Greenville at the suggestion of some of our friends. We ate at a table outside overlooking the river. Great - fun atmosphere! We all had the Moroccan Chicken Salad, which was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Big windows and high ceilings provide a great view of the river in downtown Greenville. Good food too. We only had salads and wine, but it was perfect for the light lunch we were looking for.

I can't even remember what we ate. Whatever it was, we thought it was poorly prepared and pricey. Maybe we just came on the chef's off day given other reviews that give it high marks. It is worth another try but I'll only go if we are invited by someone else picking up the tab!

We were here for a birthday dinner. Really nice atmosphere. The outside dining is great too right by the waterfall wall along the river walk. The food was great!
