Description: The Lazy Goat is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East and a relaxed atmosphere where taking the time to "linger and share" is encouraged. The diverse menu was created to accommodate a variety of diner preferences with meat & cheese plates, small plates to “graze and nibble,” and main dishes. Guests are invited to take their time while "trying a little bit of that and a little bit of that" or a "whole lot of whatever they like".

“Great food”

So at the Lazy Goat, there are a couple of different options for dining. Half the menu is small, tapas-like plates, and the other half is regular sized entrees. My friends and I went the tapas route, and ordered several dishes for the table. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the goat cheese balls.

The service was good; one of my friends had been there before and couldn't remember the wine she'd liked, so they brought her a few samples. The drinks were delicious, but not really strong enough for the prices.

Expect it all to be pricey, but it is worth it for a special dinner, or if you're in the mood for a good cheese selection.

“Great Atmosphere and Wonderful Food/Beverages”
Reviewed March 9, 2012

The atmosphere is laid back, chill and romantic all at the same time. Food is wonderful, esp. the goat cheese balls and porcini fettucini. Amazing. Great wines at a reasonable price. Good location for a girl's night or a night dinner with your spouse. No kid friendly (not designed to be anyways which is ok)

“Great Spot”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

This is a must visit place. Something for everyone on the menu Lots of variety and dishes showed lots of imagination. The restaurant manager is lovely and most helpful in choosing wines and unique dishes to try. Gould recommend to everyone including families with children.

“Get your Goat On”
Reviewed February 13, 2012

Having moved to the upstate from NYC, I sometimes pine for food that has some cultural reference other than the local "meat-n-three." The Lazy Goat hits the spot. The subtle influence is middle eastern, but you won't have a hard time finding something to eat if you are allergic to exotic cuisines. This place focuses on the details and creates unique and delicious, pleasantly unexpected, if somewhat expensive (all restaurants in Greenville seem expensive... the must assume we are all on business trips).

“Fun and imaginative”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

Mediterranean inspired, but not to be outdone on even their simpler dishes. I like the smaller portions of some dishes so I can sample two or three - and great for sharing across the table if you bring good friends! Fresh and different food - and be sure to sample the Mediterranean pot pie! Ask your server for suggestions on wine and beer pairings.
