This home contains lovely antiques and provides the visitor with a glimpse into the lives of a rather "typical" aristocratic SC couple.

Very nice. If you are in Georgetown stop in. My wife and I got married here because of its beauty.

My wife and I were about 45 minutes early for the three o'clock tour. Cost of the tour was $10 per person. We spent about 30 minutes in the gift shop looking at the different items and talking with the two ladies there. One was the docent for our tour. We were told to enjoy the rockers on the front porch of the house until the tour started. I was enjoying rocking and a great breeze so much that I almost wanted to skip the tour.
The docent was extremely knowledgeable of the house. The furnishing are amazing and well as the layout of the house. It isn't often that you see a split staircase. The most interesting feature was finding a bathroom in every bedroom in a house built in 1769. The house remains as it was in 1972 when it was donated to the city of Georgetown.
The house next door, built in 1740, is also part of the tour.

Nicely cared for home that contains nice furniture pices thru the decades. Gives a good idea of how the house evolved over time. Grounds are kept clean.

Fabulous collection of early American/British Mahogany furniture and an asset to Georgetown. The home has been left as it was when donated to the City of Georgetown by Julia Kaminski for a museum. A must visit when in the Myrtle Beach/Charleston, SC area. If the sign in the gift shop states "On Tour", take a quick walk down the Harbor front and come back closer to the top of the hour, as there may only be one docent on duty....definitely worth the wait. Marvelous! The Rice Museum at the opposite end of Historic Front Street is informative as well. Nominal fee and some resorts offer discount wristbands. Don't forget to stop by Sweetie's for some of the best homemade candies around!! Worth the trip AND the wait! Over 300 years of "American" history in Georgetown.
