“Real Gem in Georgetown”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

We had tickets to the regional theater in Georgetown to see Sex Please We're 60, very funny. Hoping to make a full night we went to dinner pre show at the Rice Paddy. It was an excellent choice. While we had reservations it was not necessary. It appears the 10 or so groups there were doing the same as us - a dinner and a show. As it was quite hot we arrived early and sat at the bar. Our friendly petite bartender made the Beauty a wonderful grey goose Cosmo with Cointreau. For me she nailed a perfect Woodford Reserve old fashion muddled. We sat at the bar sipping our cocktail for a good half hour before retiring to the dining room. Our server - #5 was excellent. I ordered a Fat Tire ale and the Beauty an A to Z Pinot Noir. We shared a wonderful Brussels sprouts roasted appetizer with a bernaise sauce. The Beauty opted for the crab cakes and I went for the Queen cut of prime rib that was a special edition. Both came with a starch and seasonal vegetables. For an additional $2 I had a blue cheese and pecan salad. The prime rib was slow cooked and perfectly medium rare with an outstanding herbal au jus. The crab cakes were loaded with large chunks of crab. For dessert with shared a huge parfait glass of fresh cocunut sorbet. It was a perfect per theater meal. We had time for a half hour walk around town before the show. Prices are reasonable but if you do the soup to nuts like we did it will run about $130 for two with tip but well worth it based on our experience.

“Refined Small Town Restaurant with Big City Cred”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

A beautiful space in an extremely quaint downtown area. I ordered "two birds" a duck and quail combination that was tastey and prepared suberbly. I admit it- I htought the duck would be tough and the quail either rubbery or dried. I was pleasantly wrong.

A great restaurant that I hope to return to someday! Thank you!

“Oozing Southern Charm”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Had a wonderful lunch with many choices from low-country cooking. Service was charming, but a tad slow reminiscent of the Old South when things moved at a slower place. Our only complaint was that our salads (1 chicken and 1 shrimp) were not chilled properly. They were delicious, but would have been much improved if colder - especially on a hot August afternoon. My iced tea glass never got more than a third empty before it was refilled!

Cornbread was the only positive. Over priced, over cooked, over rated. Server was reluctant to be there.
