Very interesting with lots of ship pieces, lighthouse things, good history and it’s all free. Donations accepted if you choose and they also have a neat little gift shop area.

This museum has come a long, long way in the last couple of years. Their collection of maritime artifacts from the greater Georgetown area is fascinating and tells a wonderful story of this historic seaport from the 1700s forward. You have two floors of stories and the artifacts that back them up - many local legends are discussed and you can get a real feel for what it was like to sail the sea and Winyah Bay during the great rice era then the indigo transport and now the fishing industry. The entry charge is nominal and well work for what you will learn and experience. Make this a stop in your visit to Georgetown.

This small museum has some interesting artifacts like a lens from a light house. I enjoyed the pictures of how georgetown used to look and the old tree stumps brought up from the river bed.

I dive around SC coast and I could directly relate to a number of the exhibits. No charge to visit. This is a must visit place in Georgetown. Fascinating view in to Georgetown shipping history.

The Harbor Historical Association of Georgetown has committed to create the South Carolina Maritime Museum on the waterfront in downtown historic Georgetown. There are many displays covering a multitude of information on sailing vessels and ships that were significant to the local area. They have the old light from the Georgetown Lighthouse. It's must see if spending anytime in downtown Georgetown.
