We ate here almost by accident, having stayed at the hotel right next door. While it was later in the evening, it was quiet, and there was a decent jazz musician playing. The service was spot-on, and the food was great. The shrimp was tasty, well seasoned, and plentiful, listed as "local, right off the dock". Nice views from any table, and a solicitous, friendly wait staff. Bartender was knowlegeable about the wine list, and when I asked something she was not sure of, she said, "let's taste it and find out!" And we did.

Overall, this is a great place for a nice dinner. The food was great, the ambiance perfect, and the service superb. What's not to like?

It's good to see Land's End open again, with at least several of the longtime staff members returning. The new owners have done a very nice job redecorating and improving both the outside and inside appearance. The restaurant is a comfortable, friendly place with great views.

The new owners, however, still have room for improvement getting their menu and kitchen in order. We've eaten there several times since they re-opened, both lunch and dinner, and overall, our meals have come up short of expectations. Although we are not big eaters, we have been disappointed by the skimpy portions of seafood, and our fish has consistently been dry and overcooked. While they still offer luncheon specials, they are very limited, with no flexibility on side dishes, and not nearly as budget-friendly as the choices previously available. We were also disappointed to find the excellent seafood gumbo has disappeared from the menu.

In the past, the Sunday Buffet was very popular with both tourists and locals, particularly since very few Georgetown restaurants are open on Sunday. The new owners are offering a Sunday brunch, but we have not yet tried it. Georgetown needs to offer more dining opportunities, and Land's End should be an important part of that. We're not yet ready to write them off, but improvement needs to happen quickly.
