My husband and I enjoyed the tour except for the biting flies. We had bug spray but my husband was bitten so badly that both of his ankles was bleeding. If you take this trip be sure to wear long pants, long sleeves and take plenty of bug spray. I would only recommend this trip for adults who take the above precautions. Even with being bitten by vampire flies we still enjoyed our trip. The guides were very knowledgeable and entertaining.

We decided to do a boat tour to the lighthouse on North Island and are so happy we decided to go with Cap'n Rod! The man is a TREASURE! He is so knowledgeable about the history of the area and shared historical facts and stories with us the entire trip. Not only did we learn a lot, we had a great time with it as Cap'n Rod is a natural storyteller who kept us riveted to everything he had to say. The lighthouse was beautiful, but the history of it was fascinating, along with the history of the entire area that he shared with us. The shelling on North Island wasn't bad, either! And if you want to see Bald Eagles, this is the place. We had at least 8 sightings on our trip! If you are going to do some type of boat tour, don't look any further. Call Mrs. Fran and schedule your tour with Cap'n Rod!

Took the family on a trip with captain rod, wasn't sure what to expect, But it was great. Captain Rod makes you feel welcome, he is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the history of the area. He does not get in a hurry, he takes time to show the beauty of the low country. If you are looking for a great day trip this is it.

The trip was enjoyable and the scenery was beautiful. Cap'n Rod is very knowledgeable of the area and the history. The cost is a little pricey, for the cruise. To have an enjoyable time out on the water, it is worth the money, unless you have a large party and then it will add up quickly.

Took the shelling cruise last year, and we enjoyed it more because the island was so beautiful. You have to go out into the water to retrieve the whelks that are washing in and it all depends on the tides.

We went on tour Tuesday Sept. 2nd. Weather was really nice. From the beginning to the end of booking the tour the operators were professional and friendly. The boat was comfortable and we were not packed on like sardines.
Capt Rod knows his stuff about the history of Georgetown and the river. I enjoyed the information about how he saved a young man and his dog. Quite a hero this Capt Rod . He never missed a beat when giving names and dates on history facts.

Unfortunately ,we did not get many shells which is why I booked the tour. But the boat ride and history of Georgetown was well worth the money.
Keep up the good work Capt Rod and staff. Thank you and I'm sure the community is a far better place with your's and family's contributions.
