“Great outdoor location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

This was the Springs family farm and the owner still lives on the site. Sometimes she even comes out and speaks to people. Very large private nature reserve with lakes horseback riding, camping hiking, mtn biking ect. Small fee for entry. Various events and festivals at the dairy barn. The Christmas festival is great for kids under 10. Unless you do the candy cane hunt this event like most is free.

“Nature, pure & simple! Good facility's well worth the trip.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

We found the Greenway Much better maintained than the reviews I read had alluded to. We had a great time following the map, walking around Lake Haigler. This beautiful area has something for everyone & appeals to all ages.
As it was the Labour day weekend there were gate attendants & the charge was $3per adult (free if you are members of Leroy's club (whatever that is) Kiaks are also cheaper if you are a club member. We were happy to pay our $6 as we found the facility's (pick nick areas & toilet blocks, even a shower!) better than basic & well maintained. The trail markings & map information is easy & clear to follow. Today we walked around the lovely Lake Haigler with plenty of clear trail markings; we found the waterfall close by & saw several large snake skins (no sight of the owners although I don't doubt they were around) lots of squirrels, fish & saw a kingfisher!
Tips; I saw mums with buggies traversing the many tree roots but for the most part the main walks were do-able for them. Plenty of parking close to several pick nick areas (a few bins provided); & we were told you will need a SC fishing license if you want to fish in the Greenway. Oh & it's best to Stop when reading the map as Lots of Tree roots. Just Enjoy & have fun in this lovely area the way nature intends it to be!!

There's something for nearly everyone- hiking, picnicking, horse back riding, boating... and it's so close to Charlotte!

“Just Beautiful!!”

The Greenway has something for everyone. Our family enjoys picnics, casual walks, bike rides, trail runs, playing in the streams, the grist meal and other historical facts.
