My only regret is staying just one night. I wish we could have stayed longer! We stayed in The Islander on the top floor and it was beautiful! There is a small balcony from which you have a great view of the inlet. Megan was a wonderful hostess and checked us in and offered us a ride on the golf cart wherever we wanted to go nearby. The happy hour from 4-7PM was a nice way to kick off the evening and the light breakfast was perfect in the morning. Oh, did I forget the fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies as a night cap? I felt like I was visiting a good friends home. The place is super clean, accommodating, homey and has a wonderful exotic island feel. Our room had an exquisite walk-in shower with multiple shower heads which I now want in my own home. I couldn't decide whether to jump in the shower or soak in the clawfoot tub! It's just one block away from Center St. where the array of bars and restaurants lie and a short, pleasant walk from the beach. It's set off so it's nice and quiet and feels like your on a private island! I just can't say enough about this place and I can't wait to go back!

The Waters Edge Inn is a lovely place to stay on Folly Beach. But for $299.00/nite for two people, it should be nice. There are some wonderful perks, like a complimentary happy hour every day from 4 to 7pm. Also, a nice feature is that they have Beach Chairs and Bikes for rent.

For a weekend getaway for two people during peak season, here is what you can expect to pay:
Bike Rentals: $20.00 per day
Chair Rentals: $10.00 per day
Total charges w/ Tax: $649.34

Unfortunately the only other option for a place to stay is the Tides and they're pretty close in terms of price during peak summer season. At least the Waters Edge Inn offers a 10% off for repeat customers.

Room Tip: The Charleston is a nice room on the ground floor with lots of privacy and close to the Hot Tub

EXCELLENT stay...the staff is incredible, super organized and friendly. We would go back tomorrow if we could. Can't thank them enough for making it a great stay.

Room was exceptional, we stayed in the Regata room. Loved the easy walk to the beach and the shuttle service is a nice touch.

Parking is easy and it was a 20 minute drive to downtown Charleston.

Think about your average beach stay in a hotel - mass crowds of people, waiting forever for an elevator only to be packed in tightly with your fellow vacationers, kids running through the hall ways, rooms that have been rundown from overuse – now wipe that image away and go to Water’s Edge! It is the perfect spot for your beach adventure! I have been to numerous bed and breakfast inns and every time I leave I always think of things the inn keepers could have done better – not so with Water’s Edge. They have thought of everything to make your stay delightful. To be honest the ladies manning the desk make all the difference in the world – their primary mission is to make your vacation one that you will never forget! Rooms are great and just the right size, ours overlooked the marsh with a screened in porch. Easy access to “downtown” and the beach (maybe 3 blocks) – but if you don’t feel like walking they will take you and pick you up in a golf cart. So much to do in Folly Beach and the surrounding area (only 20 – 30 minutes away at most) – just ask and the staff will give you great restaurant recommendations, places to go, things to do, etc. This place is the complete package.

My wife and I spent 5 nights here recently, somethings about the Inn were fine but overall the details were very lacking. We were very disappointed in what was called breakfast, we thought this was a Bed & Breakfast, we've stayed in over 100 B&B's across the US and a real B&B puts out a spread considering the wide variety in food tastes and diet needs as well as it being served by gracious hosts. Here at Waters Edge, not the case, a very small, mostly breads, pastry, muffins purchased from a large food warehouse store, Sam's or Costco, most was fresh but some old. A small selection of fruit, a day or two boxed cereal was offered but after the milk sat out for 2 hours, probably not a good choice. One morning the hot offering was cold pancakes, one morning there was NO breakfast as whomever was to prepare and put out breakfast didn't show up for work, the owner about 10:30 was putting out the normal bread selections which we would classify as a continental offering. After 3 days and our room had not been cleaned at all we ask and were told that we had to put out our maid sign to which we replied we didn't have a maid sign nor did we see any instructions that told us to do so. After another day we finally made our own maid sign and they actually came in and cleaned the room. We had to ask for coffee everyday and 3 days they brought us decaf only. The room was nice but the carpet stained and had been bleached in spots, the was no way to control the temp in the room so it was very cold, so cold we had to open the patio door to warm up the room. The staff were nice and helpful but we had to ask for everything, they just didn't have a clue on how to handle the details and for the cost of $300 per night it was very disappointing. We would never stay here again, it's over priced and it really isn't a bed and breakfast in the traditional sense.

We are very sorry to hear you had a negative experience at our property as we strive for perfect stays. Our breakfast is home made every morning and put out at 8:00 a.m. and our pastries are delivered every other day to ensure quality and freshness. Our staff is very well trained, friendly and talented and always offer 100 % to our guests. I am sorry for the misunderstanding with your stay over service, as housekeeping always knocks and asks if anything is needed if guests are in their room. If guests are out for the day then they receive full service unless a "Do Not Disturb" sign is put on the doorknob. Again, I apologize that your stay with us was less than satisfactory and hope in the future you will give us the chance to change your mind.
