“They sell cooked seafood here.”
Reviewed January 31, 2010

There was a live band, lots of lights, quite a crowd of people, and bright colors everywhere. I thought the food was pricey, especially given the rather small portions of seafood. It was a fun time but not exceptional. The staff were definitely well-prepared and very happy people. This is definitely a place where experiences will vary based on what night you come and how much alcohol you consume. If you're looking for a party and giant buckets reserved for seafood refuse in the middle of the table, then yeah, this is probably your place. It's extremely touristy and LOUD. But there's a lot of seafood restaurants in the area, and the crab shack just doesn't stand out among them.

“Casual seafood in a good location on the main drag. Good Oysters.”
Reviewed January 30, 2010

Ate at the Crab Shack and have to say the oysters were fresh as it gets, cold and briny. Crab Balls (which get raves here as well as 'average' marks) and they are just plaint lousy to be kind. They are pasty w/crushed Ritz crackers for filler, blond and as 'Suzie homemaker' a preparation as I've come across from a restaurant. The Crab Bucket w/Red Bliss Potatoes and Corn on the cob are very average in quality and freshness. They are always frozen and just who knows since when, but they were adequately brined and tasty despite being not of the highest quality. The Peanuts that are the customers for the taking are really good and plentiful. Beer is cold and service is friendly and efficient. Average when it all shakes out. Folly could use some Real homespun seafood joints that get it right. Priced right, located in a can't miss block on the main drag. I hear it is crawling with tourists in bikinis in summer. May be worth the trip for that if not for the average at best, seafood.

“Best She Crab Soup Ever!”
Reviewed January 24, 2010

The food was excellent and the She Crab Soup was the best I have ever had. The cost was reasonable and we were there off season but it was still worth going.

“In a word - dreadful”
Reviewed November 27, 2009

I ordered the grilled seafood platter. What I got for $15.99 was four shrimp, four scallops and a couple of pieces of purported mahi-mahi, served in a small dish. The rest of the platter was limp, barely thawed broccoli and green beans and overly seasoned potatoes. It was dreadful.

“What fun!!”
Reviewed October 21, 2009

It's a down home type of restaurant with the usual nautical theme. I had steamed shrimp and they were great'. My wife had crab cake sliders and she said they were ok, nothing to write home about. But it's the whole experience there. Our waitress JENNIFER was just the best. Knowledgable about the area and funny. Pretty, too. Go there and experience what it was like here 25 years ago. Have fun.
