Upon our arrival on 4/20/2013 we had to wait at the front desk to be greeted in order to get our reserved room, the same type of wait on the way out. Where are the personnel hired to represent you. The breakfast area was dirty, not well prepared and lacking food. I had to get someone to fill the containers etc. This is not what is expected from a hotel of your caliber?? I will definitely not stay at this one and will have to think very carefully before I give you any more of my business. Oh by the way the back door to your hotel cannot be secured?? This is completely unsatisfactory.

When driving to Florida from the North (NJ), it make sense to stop half way. Florence is about half way and this has become our midpoint stop. The Wingate is very convenient off the exit and offers a solid value. The beds are super comfortable, there are extra pillows, and the down comforter invites you to snuggle in. Breakfast is included and is an "expanded" continental one. All breakfast basics are included, with added hot items that vary. Nothing fancy here - just good solid food to rev up your engine and keeping on rolling! The is a pool out back, but we never got to use it. And the price is right!

We had 2 queen beds. The room smelled like someone was smoking in there even this suppose to be non smoking hotel. They claimed they can't move us to different room as the hotel was booked.
Carpet under the furniture was dusty and looked like it wasn't vacuumed since it was new. Besides that, there was an old hard muffin and potato chips from who knows when under the lounge chair. We always check the room for our son's toy cars before we leave, so we discovered the "cleanliness" right before our departure.
The mattresses were bouncy and not that comfortable.
The "hot" breakfast was limited to mostly some form of bread and cold cereal.

For a Wingate, I expected better. We only stayed one night and got in late, so it was adequate for sleeping and showering--but I'm glad we didn't need to stay longer.
- We were on the 3rd floor: the 3rd and 2nd floor ice machines were out of service and I had to go to the lobby to coax half a bucket of ice out of the 1 working machine.
- There was a mini-fridge in the room...too bad the control dial was broken and we couldn't get it to work.
- Bathroom had visible mold in the shower and ceiling, peeling paint on the walls and door, and chips in the toilet seat and vanity.
- Bathroom faucet was apparently installed by someone who has never used a faucet...the water flowed right up against the edge of the sink, making it difficult to get your hands under the water.
- Water pressure was bizarre. While I was showering, the water suddenly went from full-flow to a trickle...fortunately, it came back to full-flow within a minute or so. But that happened 3 times while I was showering. Very annoying.

We understand how frustrating these things must have been for you. We can not apologize enough. It was a strange thing for two of the three ice machines to have operating malfunctions at the same time, but they have since been repaired. The ceiling grate in the bathrooms do look at first to be moldy but I assure you that is only a shadow issue. All other complaints will be addressed and we are truly sorry for any inconveience.

The exterior and lobby of the hotel are very nice. None of the telephones in the room were connected. After connecting, none of them worked. Moved the end table to get to phone wires. The carpet behind the table had not been vacuumed in a long time. Front desk had to get another telephone so that we could get our wakeup call.
