We normally stop somewhere in South Carolina on our way to Florida, normally at a chain motel on I-95. This time we stayed at the Elloree B&B based on a recommendation from a relative. We are really glad we did. The inn is on a quiet street just off the main street. Elloree is a small town of under 1000 about 6 miles west of Santee, SC.
Tne inn has only 2 rooms. We stayed in the Angel Room with access the the upstairs porch just outside the room. It was a large, comfortable room at the top of the stairs. The home is a turn of the century house with 11 foot ceilings on the first floor and 9 foot on the second. The home was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful.
The hosts, Jack and Cindy were great people. They made us feel very welcome from the moment we entered. Jack was our cook and prepared a gourmet breakfast. The presentation of breakfast in the dining room made us feel like royalty. Jack gave us a tour of the grounds and explained the history of the place, which was very interesting.
We would highly recommend the Elloree B&B to anyone on the road north or south on I-85. It is definitely worth getting off I-95 for the inn.
