“Edisto Egret's Point Condos, Just Right”
Reviewed March 11, 2009

Stayed a week at Egret's Point Condos near the end of Edisto Island in February 2009. Nice two bedroom with full kitchen, washer-dryer, two tv's, and a nice view of a small lagoon out the back side. Had a resident alligator and an elusive otter, and a few ducks and egrets. No mosquitoes yet, but I suspect there are lots in the summer. Condo also provides two bicycles for your rides about the island.

No wi-fi in the room, but it was available a block away in a nearby reception parking lot, or inside up until 9 or 9:30 in the evening. Nice folks to work with at reception which for these condos is located back outside of town. Wonderful beach walking about 1/2 mile away, with a state park beach available, and quite a few small shells to comb through and collect. Lots of free parking on the main street sides, but only park in the direction of the traffic flow. Also lots of parking inlets along the beach access streets.

Several good restaurants, with the Seacow having a great shrimp salad at lunch, and McConkey's Jungle Shack serving great hamburgers and sandiwiches and free wi-fi. Seating is tight at McConkeys but worth the wait. Also ate at Main Street diner, but the meat selection was lacking on the day we visited. However the vegetables there were great, and the cooks very friendly.

The museum and local churches are well worth a visit to enjoy the history of the island. Oh, yes, remember the speed limits on the two main roads in town. They are fully enforced by the local police. Enjoy...

We traded one of our timeshares for a week at Egrets Pointe Townhouses on Edisto Island in South Caroline the last week of May, 2007. We had a wonderful time and the Resort was great. The ride to the island is so very southern-old oak trees, hanging Spanish moss, etc. Coming from California it was a treat! The townhouses were great-2 bedrooms, 3 baths, one room with a giant jacuzzi in it, large living room, dinning room and kitchen. The unit had just been updated and was extraordinary! There is a lagoon along the townhouses and it has three resident alligators and lots of turtles!
Fairfield offers lots of things to do and we went to Charleston on a tour and joined other guests for a Low Country Shrimp Boil, which was very interesting! We took a bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner-and were the only ones there drinking! There are two bikes with each timeshare. Fairfield has it's own beach access with lounges and umbrellas for rent. Just be sure to pay for them at the resort. They will also drop you off and pick you up at the beach.
The Piggy Wiggly was adequate and had lots of stuff and the local shops were reasonably priced and had good merchandise. We cooked most every night, but did eat out once at the Waterfront Restaurant and Bar. We would not recommend it-the food was tasteless.
We would certainly go again to Edisto Island and would obviously stay at Egrets Pointe! Great Place!!! We highly recommend it!
