“Monday nights at Edisto”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

Most restaurants are closed on Monday on Edisto. The Waterfront, Sea cow and Waleys are open however. We chose to go to the Waterfront for a birthday dinner. There was a 20-25 minute wait for our party of three. Our food was very good. The fried green tomatoes were served over the best grits ever tasted. Fried shrimp were lightly breaded and plentiful, and grilled flounder was perfection, served without a large amount of butter and no sauce.
Our service was average, nothing to write home about but it was a busy night at the restaurant and servers had tables of 10-15 also. This is one restaurant on the island that accommodates large groups and children but reservations are recommended.

“Sad decor and barely edible food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

My family and I went to the Waterfront Restaurant on our second trip to Edisto last week. We went last year and it was just ok. There aren't many dining options on the island, so one night we found ourselves back there. The decor is old and tired, and the whole place looks like it needs a deep cleaning. The wait staff was ok, they are very busy and seem very frazzled, but appear to be doing the best they can. The food was barely edible. I had a salad full of wilted and brown lettuce. My daughter's chicken sandwich was tough and flavorless. My husband said the flounder sandwich was ok. The food was also really over priced for the portion size and quality. Also, if you can't be bothered to clean your restaurant, you really shouldn't charge high prices. We will not be returning.

“Great food & great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014 via mobile

We had an awesome dinner with great service. We ate dinner around 6:30, our server Sabrina was so sweet and very attentive. Our food came out quickly and our water glasses were always refilled. We ordered the seafood combo pick two dinners $19.99 each. I got the crab cake, grilled shrimp, fries, green beans, a house salad, and I added on a cup of crab soup. My husband ordered the crab cake, fried shrimp, loaded baked potato, green beans and a side salad. It was $1.50 extra for the loaded baked potato but it was worth it, it was loaded with a lot of cheese and bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly. We even ordered a slice of brownie cheesecake for dessert. It was homemade and delicious. The only negative was it had nuts in it, would have been better without the nuts, but a good value for $3.75. The restaurant was nicely decorated with nautical decor. The only negatives - it was loud in there and the restaurant was not on the water. We recommend this restaurant, it is the best we have eaten at on Edisto Beach.

“Don't waist your time and money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

We were there early so we could beat the crowds for dinner... got seated but then waited and waited for water and service... food was poor quality. Ordered Fried flounder but I think it something else very mushy... not worth the time or money... also very busy and LOUD!!!
