“Pleasant change of pace”
Reviewed August 25, 2014 via mobile

Located on a back street by the Darlington County courthouse is a gem of an eatery. Specializing in mostly Italian food with a decidedly American bent, they offer a fine array of pizzas, Stromboli, pasta ( carbonara , ziti, chicken Marsala ). You can even get tiramisu . Or a cannoli flown in from New York. The decor is less imaginative and definitely casual but well worth the stop. And if you can't stop then try the drive up window.

“Best Grilled Chicken Salad”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Mamma Mia's has the best grilled chicken salad I have had in a long time. Tasty toppings with great seasoning on the warm chicken breast. Decent size, so you're not hungry afterwards too. I have had the specialty pizza there as well, the Mia Favorite Pizza, which was delicious. It has spinach, garlic, tomato, feta cheese, and mozzarella. Great location to grab a bite with friends for lunch or dinner.

“Good spaghetti - slow service”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Nothing to rave about, just average food, slow service. The spaghetti I had was properly cooked, al dente! The sauce was okay, the server said it was made at the restaurant. It was a Monday and my family and I were the only customers.

“Great pizza for a great price”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

We recently found a deal to Mamma Mia's in Darlington and decided to try it. We are new to the area and found the pizza to be excellent. In fact, all of the food was top-notch. Being from out of the area, we weren't sure what to expect in terms of the pizza in the area. What a pleasant surprise!

We went in on a Friday night. There were a few tables full, but plenty of space available for us to get seated right away. The menu offered a wide selection of pastas, calzones, and pizza, but figured since we were in a pizza joint, we would try the pizza. We decided to start by splitting a Mamma Mia salad.

The salad was plenty big for two people to share. The chicken on the salad was extremely tasty, as was the shrimp. The only complaint we had was that while the salad was served on a regular plate, since we were splitting it, we only received paper plates on which to eat.

We also ordered garlic knots. I've had these at other locations and sometimes I find the amount of garlic to be over-whelming. Not so here. While you could taste the garlic, you didn't feel like you were going to knock someone else out after eating them.

Finally, after a reasonable amount of time, our pizza arrived. We ordered the supreme and they weren't kidding. The pizza was absolutely covered with toppings (a plus in my book) and was cooked to perfection. Having filled up on salad and bread, we could only eat one piece each. We ended up taking most of the pizza home and it made for really fantastic leftovers.

To complete our meal, we ordered a slice of pumpkin cheesecake to go. We enjoyed this at home... the cheesecake was creamy and delicious. Overall, our experience at Mamma Mia's was fantastic and the price was extremely reasonable, even notwithstanding our deal. We will definitely be going back, especially for pick-up as they have a conveniently located pick-up window. Only possible improvement would be to add beer and wine selection or perhaps BYO service.
