Visiting this farm is truly like stepping into the past. The people are friendly and knowledgeable and the products made for the gift shop are of the highest quality-- I love the jellies especially.

don't really know how to write a review on a place like this, but I had fun there. The people who work there were very friendly.

We spotted the write-up for this attraction while browsing the SC AAA book for possible stops on a trip south. It was a great chance to sample the everyday life of a farm family of this area during the 1900-1955 time period. We could see samples of farm equipment, volunteers plowing with mules, a church building, etc. The workers were very eager to answer questions and the facility was very well maintained. Local products, books, etc., for sale were very well done.

I had been to the farm a few years back on a school field trip, but going there with my own child was awesome! We decided to go on a whim because we knew it was close and free. I am so glad we did! This is a working farm that allows visitors to experience a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of our modern world. My 4 year old was amazed by the mule, turkeys, cow, and well-preserved farm equipment from the early part of the 20th century. I highly recommend visiting early in the day so you are able to see the volunteers working.
On your way towards or out of the Grand Strand area, take a quick detour to LW Paul, it is truly worth it!

If your in Conway SC or in MB and you want to visit some history take a ride to Conway SC about 20 mi from MB to 2279 Harris Shortcut Rd (Ln) and Hwy 701 N in Conway, its free and very interesting for adults and children a like. They have a web sight www.horrycountymuseum.org also a phone number 843-365-3596. You can spend a few hour there out in the country learning a lot about farming back when. Today they were making soap, cutting up a pig and showing how they smoke meat (Today was Old Smokehouse Day) The kids will love it out in the country and like I said its free, you can leave a small donation if you wish but there no one collecting. They have a little general store you can buy a few things if you wish. It ran by mostly volunteer who will explain things to you , very pleasant country people, enjoy well worth the time and travel. One thing there is some walking and possibly a little rough for a wheel chair unless some pushing, a stroller shouldn't be to bad and there is a little walking involved also a few stair but not to bad.
