Description: DiPrato's Delicatessen opened May 2004, and, today, the DiPrato's Experience affords patrons a rewarding escape from ordinary fare. The reward? Delectable food, beautiful décor, and a beguiling balance: friendly service and a pleasant, neighborly feeling. DiPrato's, located where the Purple Cow grocer operated, graces a quiet neighborhood barely off the beaten path. Driving up, you notice the rich red brick, set off by greenery, and spacious windows where light pours in. Approaching the wooden, double-door entrance, a thought comes to mind. You're about to enjoy the DiPrato's Experience. You could say a Southern breeze laden with Italian accents drifts through this New York style delicatessen. Dine if you like on the patio where the glassy splash of falling water melts away concerns. Pita chips and pimento cheese are a real treat! Blend Dianne Light and Bill Prato's presence and culinary skills and you get a wonderfully popular delicatessen-DiPrato's.

“Totally worth the wait!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2014

A few friends and I were in town this past Sunday and had heard great things about DiPrato's, so we decided to give it a try. It was just before noon, and the place was packed. We had a short 10-15 minute wait before being seated. Once we were seated, we watched nearby tables being served their meals, and we knew we were in for a real treat. Our server was excellent, and the whole waitstaff actually seemed to help each other out, refreshing drinks for all tables, picking up plates and glasses everywhere, all with friendly smiles!

The food was amazing. We could choose from the brunch or lunch menu. I ordered a simple ham and cheese omelet with a biscuit and their amazing potato and cheese casserole... and it was superb! The other folks I was with had breakfast paninis and one had a ruben, and we were all really pleased. After we ate, we slowly wandered by the dessert and deli cases, just for one final drool-fest. Wow.

We'll definitely come back the next time we're in the area. :)

“New for us but we loved it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2014 via mobile

Went to visit my cousin and went out for lunch. A full deli bar, great sandwiches, and homemade salads including my favorite Pimento Cheese in three different flavors. Sit down tables, great service !!! And a great area with big windows to see outside. Brunch ends at 2

“Sunday Brunch done well”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2014 via mobile

Columbia does not have an abundance of restaurants that do Sunday Brunch and in my opinion very few do it well. Di Pratos does an excellent job of converting weekday walk up and order deli, to wait for a table and be served by chef coated waitstaff. Whether crab cake Benedict is your thing (it is mine!) or a perfect banana covered stack does it for you, consistently cooked to order with quality ingredients is what you'll find here.

“Others like DePrado's more than I do”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

DePrado's is a good place for lunch, but I never choose to go there. It is always someone else's initiative. Good pimento cheese dip, but otherwise the food is displayed in a case and somehow always manages to look as if it's been there a week. Deli style sandwiches are fine and some specials get my attention for their creativity. Every place can't be everybody's favorite.
