Description: DiPrato's Delicatessen opened May 2004, and, today, the DiPrato's Experience affords patrons a rewarding escape from ordinary fare. The reward? Delectable food, beautiful décor, and a beguiling balance: friendly service and a pleasant, neighborly feeling. DiPrato's, located where the Purple Cow grocer operated, graces a quiet neighborhood barely off the beaten path. Driving up, you notice the rich red brick, set off by greenery, and spacious windows where light pours in. Approaching the wooden, double-door entrance, a thought comes to mind. You're about to enjoy the DiPrato's Experience. You could say a Southern breeze laden with Italian accents drifts through this New York style delicatessen. Dine if you like on the patio where the glassy splash of falling water melts away concerns. Pita chips and pimento cheese are a real treat! Blend Dianne Light and Bill Prato's presence and culinary skills and you get a wonderfully popular delicatessen-DiPrato's.

I originally found Di Prato's via Yelp when we were new to the Columbia area. It is close the USC campus in a very nice location.

My wife and I have been here on a few lunch dates and even brought in family visiting from out of town here.

They have a great menu. The other reviews cover it all. The panini's were "as good as it gets!" and their mayo+pesto sauce creation is amazing.

It wasn't very kid friendly as it is usually very busy. I have felt that it was a little "stuffy" there depending what day of the week you go.

Always a great take-out option!

They serve from 10 am - 2pm. We arrived at 10:30 The patio was already full but we had a great table in the corner. Nice vibe with a mix of the very well heeled to the university crowd. Great service, quick pleasant and very professional. By 11:15 or so the line formed at the door and when we left about 11:30, it was mobbed and probably a good 30-45 minute wait. Absolutely worth it. Large portions, something for every one on he menu. You're not meant to linger, it's brunch ! Get on with your day and let some of the crowd at the door sit down! Mon-Sat. 10-6 , Sunday 10-4. Brunch served Sat & Sun 10-2.

Our group of four liked the atmosphere and thought the brunch prices averaging around ten dollars each were reasonable. There was a line but if you don't mind waiting, you'll find the staff turns the tables (politely).

Didn't care for the salmon and grits. Same for the tomato soup on one other visit , the dolop of cheese tastes too strong. The fruit wasn't all fresh and something you should substitute. Canadian bacon because it wasn't greasy, but it was thick and tasty.

The others liked their food and there was plenty of refills on coffee so that's why we gave it a very good rating instead of average. After all in the land of "meat and three vegetable" style restaurants, this one is a cut above. It's also very close to USC and has plenty of free parking.

Very neat place. It's usually pretty packed around lunch due to its location near the campus and downtown.. Food is a little pricey but very good. Had chicken salad sandwich on sourdough w/ Diprato signature salad. Was about $10 with a drink. Very nice. Definitely try it out. I believe the owner also owns Diannes on Devine.

Way too expensive and not worth the money. Grilled cheese was $8, and I ordered tomato soup that tasted EXACTLY like Campbell's. Don't waste your money.
