Big place and wide open. Flying Saucers are not a sports bar but they had enough large tv's placed in the right spots to easily watch a ball game. Brittany was my bartender and she knows her beer. This is an expectation at Flying Saucer and she was spot on. Olde Meck Dunkel was the fire sale beer - it is an excellent Dunkel and being from Charlotte I had it many times. . She asked if I liked stouts and porters and recommended the Palmetto Espresso Porter. Best I have had with a sweet coffee flavor. Got the turkey sandwich with jalapeño pesto and it was good. They updated their menu recently. Go to the Saucer for the beer and the pub feel. The food doesn't disappoint either. Would definitely go back.

Everything on the menu is better than you would expect for a place that looks to be known for beer. The food is excellent! If you do drink beer I've never seen a place that had more different types...usually over 200 different beers at any one time between the huge wall of taps and what is in bottles. Time to join the club today and start working on your plate on the wall...

We stumbled across The Flying Saucer while on a visit to Columbia SC. We sat outside because it was such a lovely afternoon. They have an extensive beer selection and menu. We had the German Sausage plate which was delicious along with an ice cold beer. Our waitress was the best...go have lunch or dinner & you will be glad you did.

We take our whole family here for lunch. Kids love the homemade pretzels. We love the quirky sandwiches and beer.
