“Sad environment”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

Recommended by local hotel: interior is odd or sad. A large open room with retro bar, Greek decor or something similar. The chairs are imitation bamboo banquet chairs that are very uncomfortable and the linen table settings are under glass which shouts cost cutting. Once you get past the unpleasant first impression, the food is good, reasonably priced. The saving grace was the very engaged college waiter.

“Very good, but not as good as our previous night at Solstice.”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

We had their specialty, fried whole flounder. It was good, but just a little over cooked. We shared a tomato and mozzarella salad that was very well done. Our dessert was very good--almond cone filled with vanilla ice cream and berries. I would go again, but I'd go to Solstice first.

“Favorite restaurant in Columbia”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Our 4th visit and we are never disappointed. Extremely long wait on busy weekends even with reservations (Parent's weekend, football, etc) but excellent service and food selections. recommend the calamari for an appetizer and the Garibaldi salad to start. Veal Piccata was good but heavy on the salt, Eggplant parmigiana was another nice dish. We did not go with our servers suggestion of the crispy flounder but will look forward to trying it on our next visit. We suggest using their valet parking.

“An off night?”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We chose this for my husband's birthday dinner based on the good reviews but were not impressed. We were seated promptly by a young, eager server who was congenial. He highly recommended the crispy flounder signature dish which we ordered after we had shared a very fresh and tasty order of mussels served in a buttery wine sauce and the smoke salmon and potato pancakes appetizer. This was interesting in theory but the presentation left a little to be desired. A somewhat soggy potato pancake sitting on top of sour cream was topped with smoked salmon. That was then topped with /buried under shoestring fried onions. Then came the 'crispy' flounder--it is well named as it was SO crispy there was little meat to the fish maybe 4 or 5 bites of white fish...just all crunchy, crispy fried skin and a sweet, sticky apricot jelly sauce. Maybe it was an off night for the chef or maybe folks like overly fried fish. Either way, I doubt we will go back.
