Description: Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, the kitchen's lunch, dinner and brunch handwritten menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine, with nods to Creole, Cajun, New Southern, French, Italian and Asian cuisine. We are Columbia's foremost "farm to fork" restaurant, working with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, SC seafood and more. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of our stocks, sauces and desserts are made on site, including our charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard. Our early 19th century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves 180+ fine wines (Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.

“Love the menu!”

Great atmosphere and location. Very fresh salads! We were very pleased with the salmon and the trout. We tried three different items and all shared. Lots of flavor in the foods. Lunch here is a must do in Columbia.

“Best restaurant in Columbia!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

We went to dinner here with friends and had an incredible dinner! We each ordered a different entree and shared, each one was delicious! We nearly ordered one of everything on the menu because it all sounded so amazing. Nothing we ordered was a disappointment and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

“What a great lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for the first time. What a wonderful place: first the food was terrific. You must try their great catfish coated with cornmeal - cooked to perfection with creamy rice and a lemon jalapeno sauce. The whole dish was balanced to perfection with flavors and textures. Definitely on a higher plateau from most lunches.

The setting - outside on their covered patio - made it a wonderful, romantic setting.

Next door is a wonderful gallery. After some coffee, stroll through a wonderful art+craft gallery to fine great treasures.

This was a great way to spend a few hours in Columbia.

“Unique dinner menu and cool restaurant atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

I have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times, the most recent being December 26, 2012. My husband ordered the bavette steak with oyster sauce and I ordered a NY Strip with truffle flavoring.
The menu changes daily and it hand written. There is typically a variety with a couple of beef dishes, a chicken dish, 1 or 2 fish entrees and then something like pork belly, duck or quail.
The service has been very good on my visits, the atmosphere and decorations are not your boring run of the mill stuff. There is an outdoor patio that looked nice for when the weather is warmer.
