“A great place I visit evry week!”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

I have been coming here a few times a week for many months. I have been on a long term contract in Columbia and always look forward to a glass of wine and dinner at HSV. The bartenders are great, personable and always have great wine recommendations. I've taken my customers here several times and they have always been impressed. The food is great, especially the flatiron steak! Always feel like I'm welcomed here and love to come back!

“Awesome combination of seasons and tastes”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Two shrimp presentations: one with linguini, pesto, kalamata olives, mushrooms; the other with risotto and grilled spinach were perfectly prepared and combined the flavors in a unique way. Fried oyster apps were the cleanest, freshest I've tasted in a long while. The atmosphere is Paris throughout. Service was excellent, without being overbearing. The wine list is beyond extensive! But there are selections that won't bankrupt you. We'll be back for the great food, but also to see what new is being created!

“Disappointing experience overall.”
Reviewed July 30, 2012 via mobile

Went for the first time on a Friday night, looking for a nice romantic experience. Service was terribly slow & inattentive as well as not knowledgable about specials. We were overlooked several times; however, we were only one of three tables in the whole place. Kitchen staff was loud & distracting. Rack of lamb was delicious but the chicken entree was super dry and room temp. There was no flavor at all. The wine was the best thing about the whole experience. Def do not recommend this for a fun night out. The wine room looks appealing though. We are in our mid-thirties & were suprised that the bar area drew quite an older crowd.

“Don't order a cocktail!”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

My wife and I love wine pairings and went to The Wineyard for a wine dinner, but as is our customer, we typically have a cocktail before dinner. When we saw that they did not have a cocktail list, we were about to skip it, but the waitress insisted we give it a try. So, we gave three martini options that we would be interested in, if available. The bartender soon came over to our table, announced she didn't know how to make any of them and then tried to get us to order a martini she could make, but that we didn't want. When that failed, she insisted several times that we give her the recipe of one of the martinis that we had suggested, (Hey, we just drink them, we don't make them.) If that wasn't bad enough she rudely said as she walked off in a huff, "There's a reason they call it the Vineyard!"
Now, the only reason that I don't rate this restaurant lower is that, outside this rather rude and bizarre display of behavior, (perhaps the worst I have ever seen in the many decades I have been dining) the food, wine, and the waitress service were actually very good. Even the owner/manager paid us a visit to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. So, enjoy a good wine dinner here, but DON'T ORDER A COCKTAIL!
