“The Service and Atmosphere Make The Place”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Eight of us stopped by for dinner, primarily because one of the group was pining for some mussels, which she got and which she didn't particularly like. That's too bad, since most of the rest of us wanted to visit some local place instead of a chain restaurant which you can find in a hundred different places. In any case, we called in advance and got a nice round table for all of us, right in the middle of the action, and surprisingly, it wasn't too, too loud, as are most restaurants of this type. So, thankfully good service started early. It was followed up by excellent, attentive service by the wait staff, who brought drinks, more drinks, bread, olive oil and all of the food in rapid order, without error, and nice and hot, too, as was my zuppa di pesce appetizer. Pretty good. Skip the fried zucchini; they're more like french fries instead of those nice long strips that you used to like. I had a nice short rib on some orzo. Not bad, not great and definitely not worth $20, but who cares? Money is made to be spent... which means that if you're with a group looking to have a pretty good time in an active trattoria type of place, with people dashing to and fro, Carrabba's is a decent place to do it. But if you're looking for some real good Italian food prepared by an authentic Mamma Mia in the kitchen and served by her nephew from Naples, then you'd be better off finding some smaller local joint. I don't know of one around the Columbiana mall area, but I knew of lots of them back up in New York and New Jersey. Remember? The next time through Columbia, we'll look for one and write it up. If you have no choice, well, Carrabba's will do the trick no matter where you find one. It's a good chain if you're into chains.

“Still Good”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

My husband and I went to Carrabba's on Columbiana for an early dinner. We were again pleased with the service and the food. It is still one of our favorite choices for a nice dinner in the Columbia area. Our server, Billy, was excellent.

“Not bad for a chain restaurant”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Dinner at Carrabba's was very good. I ordered the Veal Piccatta and my husband had a pizza. The wood fire oven really makes the pizza nice. I like that you can order a small portion or a large portion. They also had several "skinny" alcoholic beverages. I tried the skinny mojito and it was refreshing. While we aren't usually fans of chain restaurants, Carrabba's was an exception. We also enjoyed sitting at the kitchen and watching the cooks prepare the food. An added bonus is there is no wait if you sit at the kitchen.

“Great Food and Wine”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

A large group of friends ate at this Carrabba's recently. Although they were a few minutes late in having our reservation table ready, we had only a positive experience. Everyone had a delicious meal with no complaints on the food or service. The hot bread is an extra feature which keeps us coming back!
