We found this lovely restaurant by accident as we were staying at The Inn at Claussen's hotel next door and just popped in initially to buy a bottle of wine. As the staff were so friendly and the menu looked so nice, we decided to return later for a meal.

Our night here was one of the highlights of our honeymoon to the USA (we were on a driving tour of SC and GA). We had a lovely time sitting at the bar talking to the friendly staff (and customers) and enjoying the delicious (and extremely good value) food.

Three courses for $22 was a great offer (portions were quite small, but we found this a relief having been gorging ourselves for days) and every dish was beautifully presented, but more importantly, absolutely delicious.

We would not hesitate to return to this restaurant and would heartily recommend it to any visitors to Columbia.

Finally, something not so "college-student" oriented in Downtown Columbia. I love this place - great service, great wine, great food. The menu is limited but everything we tried was fantastic! I'm so happy I finally found this place!

Unique menu with great selection of beer and wine. Most of the seating is high tops and community bar style. We sat in the back on a couch and had a 3 course special for $22. Great deal for what you get. Service was great! Wouldn't go here without a date. cheers!

Cellar on Greene was my go-to, absolute favorite restaurant for years. Although the wines and wait staff continue to be attentive, the food quality and portion sizes have declined. I have taken friends and family to Cellar on Greene for years just for their outstanding, signature Tuna Nachos. A change in chefs led to a small change in the recipe (the addition of fennel, for one). As the portion size shrank so did the complexity of the dish. Last night was the straw that broke the camel's back. Our tuna nachos came out without the signature cilantro creme sauce and a paltry 12 chips if that. After commenting to our waitress about the size of the dish she told us the amount of tuna was the same, but they'd just cut down on the quantity of chips. That makes absolutely no sense. There was less of everything and the salsa was missing its signature freshness and punch. If you want to know what the tuna nachos used to be (both in taste and volume), you can find Cellar on Greene's recipe online (http://columbiahg.com/2011/10/cellar-on-greene-rare-seared-yellowfin-tuna-nachos/). Our family prepares it for Christmas Eve Dinner every year. The restaurant's current dish doesn't hold a candle to the original.

Cellar on Greene may be my favorite restaurant in Columbia. Its atmosphere is inviting and casual but definitely has an upscale feel. The wait staff will always share good recommendations for wine and for food, and you always get great service. Best of all, the wine selection is awesome and there are always recommended pairings with the always changing menu. The food is creative but not "weird," and the flavors the chef puts together and always amazing. This is a great date spot and a fun place to come with friends.
