Owner description: One of only five National Historic Landmarks within Columbia, the Robert Mills House exemplifies the skill of the first architect born and trained within the United States who designed some of the nation's most prominent buildings, including the Washington Monument. Worth visiting if you like old historic buildings. Robert Mills was a famous architect. There are a couple of buildings in this immediate area that are worth seeing, you can get the brochure when you visit any one of them. You would be better off to go on down to charleston if you are really interested in lovely historic homes.

Great history for the whole family to enjoy. Our middle schoolers enjoyed the tour.

Maintained by the Historic Columbia Foundation, this is a fine old mansion with lovely gardens. They have tours and other activities on a regular basis.

They always have a great christmas tour there. They accually open both houses for your viewing.
