Description: Our cuisine can be labeled many things, but it is most definitely seasonal. Our service is professional, yet far from stuffy. Our décor is modern, yet simple, and our wine list is extensive. Perhaps most important of all, everyone from our servers and bartenders, to our chefs and management, are among the most dedicated service industry professionals in our community.

Tried Solstice during on overnight stay in Columbia. Worth the 15 minute drive from downtown. Greeted warmly upon arrival. Nice bar area. Small but warm and welcoming. Great wait staff and service was excellent. Wine list is good and not overpriced at all. The food was excellent -fresh and perfectly prepared. What a gem and so glad to discover Solstice. Prices are a great value for the service, quality and preparation. Excellent daily specials.

Started with the Hendricks Cooler and Spanakopita...both worthy of a repeat. Andrea, our very knowledgeable server, recommended the Duck Confit and the Black Grouper...purrfect recommendations and not a morsel remained. We managed to also polish off the Banana-kopita dessert which was over the top. This was a stop-over on the way to the beach and I strongly suspect we will not be as foodie-spoiled the following week...what a find!

Quick late lunch was delicious! The "Little Piggy Burger" with melted cheddar on top an 2 strips of applewood smoked bacon with string fries was great! Never a better burger - not to mention the smoked Gouda and bacon Mac & Cheese!

Youza!

I had a business lunch at this place, and it was great. Everybody commented that their meal was excellent. We ordered one of each of the three lunch appetizers and all were very tasty-the favorite was the smoky mac and cheese. Make sure you order the mac and cheese appetizer. One person (from Charleston) ordered shrimp and grits and commented that they were some of the best she's had. Four people ordered the day's special, a salad topped with a seared piece of salmon-they all gave it very good reviews. I had the salmon patty over cheese grits and it was tasty, mostly salmon, very little breading. We all split the Crispy Creme bread pudding, it tastes like a hot donut, and is very rich. The next time I visit I plan to try their fried chicken-as good as the other food is, this has to be wonderful.

My wife and I stayed overnight in Columbia, and looked for the best restaurant. Solstice Kitchen did not disappoint us in any way. Great drinks and wine. Shrimp and grits were amazing. Slow cooked pork shoulder melted in our mouths. Do not let the location fool you; this is a top notch place. Don't miss it.
