Owner description: Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is home to nearly 2,000 animals that represent more than 350 species from around the world. The Botanical Garden boasts 70-acres of unparalleled beauty and is considered one of the America's best public gardens. Dramatic and themed gardens showcase more than 4,300 species of native and exotic plants, providing a living classroom for gardeners and non-gardeners alike. “Fun day out but get there early!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We went prime time at 11 am on a beautiful spring day along with the rest of South Carolina! Go, but get there as close to park opening as you can. Avoid the line to buy tix or buy them online before you go. Will be back!

“Best zoo in the southeast!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Friendly helpful staff. Clean facilities, great animals! A membership is a lifesaver with kids! Gardens are beautiful and the river trails make great walking!! Food and gifts are a bit on the pricey side, so we always pack a picnic! Stroller friendly, until you get to the garden, then it's a bit trickier, especially if you take the trails.

“Fun at the Zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is a great place to go with the kids and spend the day. We always end the day with a walk up to the gardens, you can also take the tram. Nice for familys, I would advise not to go in the heat of the summer it gets very hot and humid and children get verry cranky.

“Family Fun at the Zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We had a great day with the Children and Grands. I recommend the family passes as it allows the children to take advantage of most rides and things like Rock wall climbing which have extra charges if you just get daily passes. We had a birthday picnic just outside of the park they have tables and trails set up. Had a great day nice interaction experiences for the children.

“Has a bunch of animals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

We were able to hit the whole zoo in about an hour. You get to see all the animals that you are looking for here. This place is also part of the AZA, so if you have a membership, you get in free.
