Owner description: Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is home to nearly 2,000 animals that represent more than 350 species from around the world. The Botanical Garden boasts 70-acres of unparalleled beauty and is considered one of the America's best public gardens. Dramatic and themed gardens showcase more than 4,300 species of native and exotic plants, providing a living classroom for gardeners and non-gardeners alike. “Cold but awesome!”

We chose the zoo for a birthday, and although the day was a cold day, the zoo was fantastic! Easy to navigate, the exhibits complete, staff friendly, and aesthetics very nice!

“Even with a Membership it Doesnt Get Old”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

Wow! What can I say about the zoo. We love it! We have been members here for about 8 years and still enjoy going several times a year to see the animals as well as what is new. Great opportunities for the kids to interact with animals such as feeding the giraffes or riding the ponies. Love the wristband which includes all thoses costs. Has a beautiful old carosuel. The gardens are awesome too! Dont miss the tram ride over there

This is a clean zoo, well kept. The exhibits are eye appealing the way they have been planned out. The animals look like they are in authentic surroundings. Price of admission reasonable

“Nice zoo, not overwhelming in size”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

We enjoyed taking our 2 boys and my parents to Riverbanks Zoo. We didn't go to the Botanical Garden. Parking was easy, and I loved the size of the zoo. It wasn't overwhelming in size, just perfect for a day trip.

The kids enjoyed the pony rides and feeding the giraffes. There is also a petting area with goats, etc. The zoo offerings were pretty standard, but it makes for a fun day.
