“A must if you come to Columbia.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

If you have kids and you come to Columbia, this should be the one thing that you do. If you don't have kids and you come to Columbia, you should still do it. But families will likely get the most fun and enjoyment out of it.

With that said, my wife and I went every few months even before we had children. It is easily one of the best zoos in the United States.

“Great place to see happy animals!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I love our zoo. We spent many, many weekends there when my kids were small. I have not seen many other zoos to compare, but I think ours is great. There is a merry-go-round for the kids to ride. You can pay a few dollars to ride a pony on a small trail. You can feed the giraffe's too. The gardens are wonderful also! Great place to spend the day.

We liked looking at the animals that they had and learning something about each one. It was very interesting and a beautiful day for being in December.

“Kangaroos at zoo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

This zoo has added a very nice exhibit of Kangaroos which you can walk thru. they do have Komodo dragons also but they are very young and small. Easy to get around and not a third of the walking you have to do at the NC zoo in Asheboro. a fun and interesting zoo.
