“Great choice while in Clemson”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

My family recently stayed at the Clemson Courtyard by Marriott in one of the two room suites. Check in was effortless, was through the process in less than 2 minutes. The room was spacious and comfortable. The lobby is similar to all new Courtyards. My only complaint (and the reason this isn't a 5) was that the walls at this property seemed to be thinner than at most other hotels I've stayed in recently. We could clearly hear the folks outside playing in the pool, the garbage truck in the morning, and people in nearby rooms. Nothing a white noise generator couldn't take care of, but noisy nonetheless.

Not a great welcoming after traveling hours, but the room was well appointed and comfortable. Bathroom had everything we needed and are contemporary and clean. We caught the gals at the front desk and behind the kitchen counter on an 'off night' and it put a damper on our stay.

It was great to get to spend a couple of days in Tiger Town by myself. This property felt brand new and was a welcome sight as many of the hotels in the Clemson Area have seen their better days. The Clemson Bi-Lo is right next door and the new Publix is just a stone's throw away. Very convenient to the stadium and downtown Clemson. The pool was secluded and I was able to enjoy a quiet afternoon with both sun and shade. I highly recommend this property and hope to stay there again soon.

clean, new hotel/ comfortable beds/ only problem was excessive noise from air conditioner when it cycled on, which was a lot--
the main downside was that breakfast was not included in the room price---also, since breakfast had to be ordered from the food service area, it took longer than if offered as a buffet---the food service staff were very nice--

This is one impressive hotel, even more so given the reasonable cost. The decor is up-to-the-minute, and there are more types of rooms and suites than one might expect -- not your average roadside lodging. Apparently most of the bathrooms have big, glassed-in showers, so if you need a tub you should ask for one.

Our king room was just as pictured by another guest, modern and comfortable from the seating area to the clever quarter-round shelf that made a suitcase standing underneath feel more out of the way. The bed faces the window wall, something we've seen before only in an Aloft Hotel. We stayed here on a 3-state road trip, and my wife said she got her best night's sleep in that room.

Staff was friendly and helpful, giving us advice about where to find a late dinner. We could stay here again quite easily.

Room Tip: Top floor was quiet.

We stayed here 1 night en route to Georgia. This is a newer hotel that is clean and well maintained. The location is more suited for business in Clemson as it is located near the University off US 123. It is about 10-15 minutes off I-85. If you are passing through, the Fairfield Inn located right on I-85 may be a better choice.

Room was standard Courtyard decor. The room was clean, fresh smelling and everything is in working order. Front staff was friendly, professional and engaging. No complaints here! We certainly would choose this property when we return in the future!

This is a new property and is well managed. The front desk staff who checked us in was incredibly professional and respectful - and rightly proud of her workplace. The lobby and lounge were very inviting. The room was spotless and just felt comfortable. Good bedding -- not up to Hampton or Westin standards -- but still above average. The large bathroom had a very nice walk-in shower, which is a very nice change from the narrow tub/shower combination. I thought the nightly rate was a bit on the high side for a non-event weekend, but I think the property was nearly full. My only gripe is that no Gold status upgrade was available, though we did check in late.
