“A very enjoyable experience”

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for two nights in early May while doing genealogy research in Chester. We enjoyed it very much and found the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Sandie, our hostess, went out of her may to make everything perfect. The remodel of this beautiful old house has make it most comfortable with modern bathrooms, good central Heat and A/C, and large, comfortable, sunny rooms. Sandie has furnished all of the house and guest rooms very nicely. The house has a large front porch with rocking chairs and swings and sits on three acres, well off the street, with a swimming pool, small children's playground and beautiful grounds. Sandie's breakfasts were delicious, creative and lasted us until dinner as they were so ample. For golfers, there are numerous courses within an hour by car. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

The Inn on York Street is sublime! The accommodation, breakfasts and welcome you get make you want to stay forever. From Sandie and Mark you receive attention to detail from the minute you book with them; they helped us with flight suggestions, golf bag issues and even how to transport home a rather unusual purchase! The golf we played was great and we were provided with easy to follow routes, ideas for where to visit and what to see in the area. We can't wait to go back!

Skydive Carolina in Chester, suggested this lovely Inn. Sandie was an awesome hostess and we ate at the Summit Food and Spirits, based on HER recommendations. Our breakfasts were huge and varied, our room was delightful and the whole Inn felt more like a plantation home. Sandie's gardener has left many southern heirloom shrubs and trees. We are looking forward to a return to the Inn in the Fall. A stay at this Inn is worth breaking up your drive or as a final destination.

What a fantastic hotel. Sandie and Mark are excellent hosts, my husband and I had a two week holiday in june and I enjoyed it so much I returned in September on my own for two more wonderful weeks. Mark arranges great golf courses and Sandie's breakfasts are to die for they set you up for the day. The Inn is made to feel like your home for the duration of your stay it really is a magical place. Chester is like a place that time forgot!!!!

This is a class act. A beautiful southern style house, stylish furnishing throughout, exquisitely comfortable bedrooms and a gourmet breakfast. And that is the down side! Mark and Sandie are the real stars. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel special and 'at home'. They will help you with your itinerary and any special needs. When you leave you leave as friends. Its your life - fill it with special treats such as this b&b can offer on your visit to South Carolina.
I agree with all other reviews so will not repeat comments about golf and small American towns. We did support the local dining and bars and found everyone very friendly and welcoming. However you must remember it is real America and Chester like other small towns grew around the railway. You will hear trains. It adds to the special atmosphere this large measure of 'Southern Comfort' can offer.

The Inn on York Street is beautiful - all 4 bedrooms are lovely but our favourite was the Ernest Hemingway suite. Sandie and Mark are great hosts, attending to your every need. In fact when my husband injured his back they went out of their way to help - going to the pharmacy for medication and organising for a masseuse to come to the inn. Breakfasts were superb - different every day! Loved sitting on the front porch with a drink or cup of coffee, just watching the world go by.

Chester is a small town with easy access to I 77 - plenty of good golf courses within an hour's drive - all organised by Mark with restaurant recommendations for afterwards.

All in all we had a fabulous week!

this B & B would take a lot to beat it.Excellent accomodation with extremely attentive hosts in Mark and Sandie, nothing is too much trouble whether organising golf or days out.
The breakfasts are varied and very attactively presented in pleasant surroundings.
All in all an experience of small town america that is difficult to beat. You do become part of the family and the town.We can recommend the Inn on York Street to anyone who enjoys sophistication with simplicity.
