We stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of a wedding planner. I had not noticed this hotel on any of my previous trips to Charleston, and although the pictures on-line looked great, as we know, hotels are not always how they seem. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! We checked in very late and were greeted by a genuinely friendly receptionist. Our room was impeccable… stylish, clean, comfortable and quiet. The room was large enough for two travelers with luggage. The décor is contemporary, warm, and inviting. We were able to control the air temperature in the room, and could achieve a comfortable temperature quite easily. The beds were out of this world. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time that my sleeping experience was this amazing. The mattress was super comfortable, the sheets & comfortable felt fantastic and the pillows were the right size for the queen sized beds. It was so comfortable, none of us wanted to get up out of bed in the morning. (I will be contacting the hotel to find out how to purchase the bedding!) The bathroom was one of the most tasteful and practical bathrooms that I have experienced. With both a shower and bathtub, there is something for every traveler. The tall vanity was perfect. I loved the clean, contemporary tiles that they used on the floors and walls – no flowery, peeling wall paper! In the morning, we decided to have breakfast in the restaurant. While the décor was not as contemporary, the food was so fresh and flavorful. They had everything from an omelet bar to standard fare of bacon, sausage, French toast, and fresh grits. In addition to relying on my taste buds to know that this was a great place to eat, I was impressed with how many locals came in while we were eating. In addition to the comfortable rooms, the hotel has a well maintained pool and patio area, a fitness center, and a small fridge and microwave in the room. This was the most perfect room in the mid price-point range that I have found in the Charleston area. I really felt as if I was staying at one of those 4-star hotels in downtown Charleston. I can’t say enough about how perfect this hotel is – the owners have truly tried to satisfy all the components of an excellent stay.

Thanks for pointing out that the hotel is just as the pictures show vs. being a disappointment compared to what is shown online. We so appreciate all the compliments on the hotel, the staff, the food in our restaurant, as well as the décor, the bathrooms, and the bedding. It was an honor to have you here in our family’s hotel and we look forward to your return.

Convenient to the airport, but removed form the historical district. Rooms are large and well appointed, and upscale decor. Hard to get into from the road, and harder to get out of to the road.

Warning, the air condition er is either on, and blowing, or off and muggy - regardless of what the thermostat says

I am glad to see that you realize the price difference between what we charge and what hotels cost in downtown Charleston which is 5-10 minute drive down the road. We offer a very similar experience in terms of amenities for about 1/3rd of the price. Due to the high humidity of our local climate we installed advanced dehumidification systems in all of our guestrooms to keep humidity down when the wall thermostat turns off the AC system having reached its set temperature. Hope to see you again soon and we appreciate your business.

Located just about 5 miles from downtown Charleston, this modern, clean and friendly hotel offers a viable and an attractive alternative to the more expensive hotels found in the city centre. The front desk staff could not be faulted - very helpful, friendly and professional - they set the tone and style of the hotel.
You will not be disappointed, even though the prices rise by some $50 for the week-end.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, away from the Savannah Highway.

I booked this hotel after checking Tripadvisor's reviews of several places in Charleston. This place was great! If you look it up on Google, you see an old picture of the street front. I saw it and was questioning my decision. Not an issue. The picture was from before they did the multi-million dollar renovation. The rooms are phenomenal! The staff was very helpful. Especially since the day we arrived downtown Charleston had flooded. When we checked in they let us know it was not advisable to try to get downtown. That probably saved us hours of sitting in traffic. And, boy was I glad I'd chosen a hotel that was not in downtown Charleston! It is situated close enough that it is a quick drive downtown but also not far from some of the plantations and other sites. It is right down the street from the Early Bird Diner which I highly recommend.
This hotel was less than half the per night cost of a few of the historic downtown hotels but probably worth twice that given the room and amenities. Check their website. The photos are true depictions - not the type that make it look better than the reality. Loved Town & Country Inn and Suites, I'm already planning to stay there again.

Thanks for your kind review. I see that you appreciate all that we offer for the price. Just as an update… when you pull the hotel up on Google now, everything has been completed updated and shows the hotel as it is after the rebuild. Thanks for your business and we hope to see you again soon.

On the outside this hotel looks like it was caught in the 70's. Check in anyway----because the guest rooms are gorgeous! They are completely updated, with luxurious beds, sumptuous linens, the most impressive toiletries, amazing furniture. It's not in the fancy part of town, but not that far from the historic district, maybe 15 minutes' drive. Go soon, before they raise their incredibly reasonable rates!

Thanks for your kind words and for sharing your great experience here at the hotel. We completed a total rebuild of our hotel guestrooms that opened in August 2012 and are in the midst of the hotel lobby, hotel restaurant, and hotel lounge rebuild to be completed by late spring 2014.

First time visiting Charleston for our Anniversary and we were not disappointed. This hotel lived up to our expectations for our stay Sept. 27-29. The staff was very helpful and appeared to be equipped with a wealth of information. Our room was very spacious and extremely clean. The beds were also extremely comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and bright. The hotel is located near shopping and not to far from other Historic sites. Trotters the hotel restaurant was amazing. Dinner and breakfast was very delicious and we didn't have to wait to be seated. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I most definitely will return again (next time with the rest of the family)!

After being out all day this was truly home away from home! Thank you Town & Country Inn & Suites!!!! :-)

This was our tenth anniversary and our first trip to Charleston. We splurged on the hotel and hoped for the best. We were very satisfied. The room was as good or better than the pictures which is rare. The furnishings were upscale and the whole room was in new condition. The carpet was pretty and clean. The bathroom was really nice with the walk-in shower, granite countertop and air-bath tub. There was a built in area with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee station, sink and shelf. Very handy. The front desk clerk and all staff was very courteous and helpful. This hotel was in a convenient area. A short drive to Magnolia Plantation and roughly a fifteen minute drive to Folly Beach and downtown. There was a Ruby Tuesday across the street and a Taco Bell, Cook Out and Cici's next door. We didn't try Trotters restaurant (located in hotel) but all the locals said it was great! Pool area was beautiful! We would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone.

Room Tip: After a long day, the air-bath tub felt good for achy and tired legs, feet and back. I was told all...
