Stayed here on a Hilton HHonors rewards stay. At first it looked kind of out of place, but if you read the history of the building it was the original Citadel building, and armory, etc... We felt like the location was a little far north at first, like we should have stayed in the Doubletree, which is further south, but this location turned out to be PERFECT!

We stayed here for my son's graduation from navy nuclear power School. 4 of us worked well in the suite considering 2 were young women and needed space to primp. Staff was very friendly, valet was a bargain at $20. Room was clean and well appointed. Only complaint was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. With 4 of us getting ready the bathroom soon became a steam room. Also, somewhere there is a black boot we lost.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. It's the old Citadel and it's right next to Marion Square. The only thing is if you are wanting to be down in the historic section you will need to either walk or take the free trolley. It's a nice walk down King Street to get to Market Street.

The rooms are a bit smaller then what I'm used to at Embassy Suites. Everyone at the hotel is friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was very good.

Room Tip: All the king size beds are on the first and second floor only.

I stayed here on a week-long business trip in Charleston, SC. What a great week!! I was greeted by friendly staff enjoyed a beautiful room with exposed brick walls, a comfortable bed, and the all great and free wifi. After a long day of listening to lectures I was able to enjoy a complimentary, warm and delicious cookie. The daily evening reception served well-made, complimentary drinks. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will stay at this hotel each time i am able to visit this area. It is now my favorite!

Wonderful stay at this hotel. The building is the original Citadel. It is a great location close to the historic district and walking distance to the ferry that takes you to Ft. Sumter. Great evening reception and made to order breakfast.

This hotel was very nice and accomodating and a good location for touring Charleston. Had a great hot breakfast and nice evening reception. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. And close to the free trolley that goes around the historic area.

Very interesting building, not a bland hotel. Great service. Kudos to 2 outstanding staff members. First, the concierge, Frank. Great knowledge and valued opinions. He knew everything about everything. And a young lady at the desk, Silver. Always greeted us with a smile and hello. Referred to us by name. Not seen often in large hotels these days. Thank you, Embassy Suites Charleston
