My husband and I stayed at The Dewberry for our 20th anniversary January 15-19th. We've been to Charleston several times, and we always like to try a new place. We stayed in a Charleston Flat, which is very roomy and comfortable. The double vanities in the bathroom are great except there is an outlet for plug ins on only one side of the sink. I have made a list of pros and cons for anyone considering staying there. Pros: if you stay 3 days in the winter, you might get the fourth night free (we took advantage of that), we also received valet parking free (it's $36 per night otherwise). There is a free car service that takes you anywhere you need to go on the peninsula (but you need cash to tip the driver), convenient location to King street bars/restaurants. The beds are comfortable and the hotel room is very quiet. The view from the windows is gorgeous (except there are so many windows that the view is obstructed), the shower is huge and there is great view of the city through the shower window. Housekeeping does a great job, and replenishes plenty of towels and wash cloths everyday. Cons: no breakfast of any kind is included, no wine/cheese or snacks offered (other than in the mini-bar which is expensive), no convenient way to get ice. They will bring ice to you, but it might take a while. Overall, for the money, I'd rather stay somewhere that offers club service or free breakfast. The doors to the bathroom are very heavy and slide closed and there is no fan in the room with the toilet. There is no way to buy movies or access movie channels other than HBO. If it's bright outside, there are many curtains to close to block out the light. Light leaks through the bathroom at all times during the day (if you require a very dark room, this isn't the place to go.) I wanted to give an honest review. This is as honest as I can be!

Room tip: Charleston Flat high floor (Room 719 on the top floor) is very quiet with great views.

I absolutely loved the Dewberry! The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are beautifully kept and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful! Shoutout to Mark F. who was part of the staff in the lobby who went out of his way to give me great recommendations for a night on the town! I would recommend this hotel to everyone and anyone. It has it all!

Over the holidays we had the pleasure to unwind in the lobby of the Dewberry Charleston on a busy afternoon. We settled into comfortable well appointed seating with a glass of champagne and deviled eggs. Our servers were prompt, attentive and most friendly. A gem here in our fine city. (Henrietta's didn't open until 5:00, so we'll be back.)

My wife and I have 5 children and haven't gone away for probably 10 years by ourselves. We needed an overnight stay somewhere and chose the Dewberry because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. SO glad we did. The location is perfect - central to where we like to eat at certain restaurants. The drinks were great on the rooftop bar and in The Living Room and the rooms and decor were PERFECT. I love the way this place looks, feels, and how nice the staff were. Might make this our quarterly getaway spot.

The lobby bar is really cool and the cocktails are good, but expensive. The service was good and the courtesy car is a nice touch. Central location and easy to walk around.

Room was a bit small and a/c was a bit all over the place. We were on the second floor and could hear music from the bar. Make sure to request an upper room.
