“Don't Bother”

It won't kill you but given all the great food in Charleston you are not missing anything bypassing this place.

Who puts green beans in fried rice?? Seriously who does that.

“Good food and a great price downtown!”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Really enjoyed the fast service, good teriyaki and great price in a great location! The menu had a variety of good food offerings and will likely return next time in town.

“Good GOD this was yummy”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

We went here 2x in 2 days it was so good. Had the chicken sandwich and a couple of their curry bowls. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. A word of caution: everything we ordered on both days came out so piping hot we actually couldn't eat it for awhile! Weird...but once it cooled off...delish.

“Nice lunch place - authentic asian cuisine. Good prices.”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

On a visit to the College of Charleston with my daughter, and decided to step away for a late lunch. Walking along King near the campus we found Fire Street Food. It didn't look to busy and we both enjoy asian food so we decided to give it a try.

The interior is spare, with a counter up front and a menu above. We thought we were supposed to order at the counter, and waited to do so, but when we got to the front, they seated us and gave us menus for table service. The staff seemed disorganized. The table needed to be cleaned, even though it wasn't that busy, and they seemed to have enough staff.

We got a table in the back, and decided to order several different items to share. We got Laos noodle soup, alaskan rolls and beef skewers. I ordered Sake. All the food came quickly and was REALLY delish. The beef skewers were very, very well seasoned. The noodle soup was very satisfying. I couldn't finish it all. The alaskan rolls were good, but almost too big. They were kind of hard to eat.

The prices were very reasonable, and after the initial confusion when we arrived the service was good. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant near the restroom. There was an odd smell from the back that was a bit off-putting. I have noticed that same smell in other stores in that area of Charleston (the old part of the city).

Definitely recommend.
