“B&B with a Happy Hour!”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Cannoboro is a lovely B&B within easy walking distance to historic Charleston. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The delicious breakfasts served on the piazza were great. And it was so nice to come back after a busy day of sight seeing to enjoy a glass of wine & snack back on the piazza. Barry, the inn owner, has an amazing amount of knowledge of the history of the city. Our only complaint is that our bed tended to sag in the middle, although by the end of the day we were too tired not to sleep well!

Our first visit to Charleston, to explore and kick back for a few days, was truly enhanced by the staff, ambiance and attention offered at the Cannonboro Inn. Folks were friendly, in a relaxed, easy-going way that you could just tell was not forced, and as understanding and helpful as you could ever ask for. We thought that our street-facing room might get too much outside noise, but it just didn't happen; quiet was the order of the day ... and night. Great mattress might have influenced that impression. Convenient to local bus and trolley connections (within a block or so) to get around. An overall pleasant place to stay.

Room Tip: Based on our 1st-time stay ... Room #1 is a winner! Right by the ice machine, and by breakfast on th...

We stayed for 3 nights at the Cannonboro Inn in August. What a delightful experience. We stayed in the King bedroom and it was one of the largest rooms we have ever stayed in! The breakfast was delightful with a different main course every day. One nice touch is that the coffee maker is ready to roll and when we got up in the morning, all you had to do was start it and you had coffee ready prior to breakfast. The late afternoon wine and snacks were very tasty and there was always a pitcher of cold water and iced tea in the community refrigerator for all to partake.

I am a picky person and the room were very clean and well kept. Parking was tight but not impossible and was free which is a rarity in Charleston. The bed was very comfortable.

2 of our mornings the owner was there with great conversation and information on his adopted city. I felt this is located in a safe area.

The air conditioning was more than adequate. We had access to a 2nd floor verandah which was very pleasant in the morning.

We have already recommended it to friends and would stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: Our room was near the back and while there is a hospital across the street, we hear no noise. Huge...

Staying in the Cannonboro Inn was like taking a step back in time.

The Cannonboro Inn has one of the best locations in Charleston and all the Innkeepers were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. Provisions for late arrival were made. Breakfasts were delicious. The Inn was immaculate and very well maintained. The owner visited every morning and was a wonderful source of knowledge and information. We're looking forward to our next stay at the Cannonboro Inn this next Spring.

My husband and I were dropping off my little boy in Charleston to go with his father for a couple weeks. We decided to make it a mini vacation for the weekend. The house is gorgeous and the staff are very helpful as to what to do and how to get everywhere. We stayed in the King Suite which was room 4 and it was very spacious and we loved the access to the 2nd floor veranda. It rained the entire time we were there but we were happy just to hang out at the inn. Oh and don't pass up the amazing breakfast!

My sister and I made plans over the Internet as she lives in Alaska and I in Seattle. We went by photos, reviews and location and were not disappointed. We had room 5 which served our needs perfectly and the bathroom just outside the door was no inconvenience to us, with the sink being in the bedroom. The home itself is so beautiful and having a breakfast on the wrap around piazza in the early morning breeze was over the top. We had peaches and cream stuffed crepes slathered in blueberry sauce. Can you say YUM?! The home was quiet and comfortable and we felt immersed in the long history of Savannah. The tour bus picked us up right in front and that was worth going on. We also did a lot of walking from here as it was in a great location for doing so. We give this B&B and it's lovely staff two thumbs up.

Room Tip: Room 5 was quiet, very comfortable bed, and on the second floor.
