The King Charles Inn is very conveniently located for walking to many of the interesting sights in Charleston. The rooms are small but nicely furnished. The bathrooms are large, modern and clean. The bed is comfortable. The Inn has a restaurant that is handy for breakfast and the bar has a complimentary cheese & fruit plate for Happy Hour. Free parking is an added bonus.

What a fine hotel! Greater before we got out of the car! Great concierge service! Scheduled all our tours with hotel pickup and suggestions to the best restaurants! Kathleen is pretty and so helpful! Room was great. Very, very clean. Situated right in the perfect spot! Ate breakfast each morning at the on site pub and wine and cheese in the afternoon. Breakfast was perfect every morning.

This hotel blew my expectations away. It was in the perfect location to explore Charleston on foot, and there were plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby. The room was gorgeous and spacious. The furniture in both the room and the lobby was very chic. I don't know how I accidentally stumbled upon this gem, but I am so glad I did.

Room Tip: If you get a room on the Hasell St side, you get a view of a cute palm-lined street with gas streetl...

I chose the King Charles Inn because it was the least expensive hotel I could find in walking distance of the Spoleto Festival events. it also offered parking at no charge, whereas most of the downtown hotels do not have parking but rather require you to park at a public garage or pay for valet parking. The hotel is small but nice, and even has a small private outdoor pool adjacent to the cafe. Breakfast was not included, but was reasonably priced, and the Belgian waffle I had was delicious! The view from our room was NOT of scenic Charleston streets, but rather of the construction going on behind the hotel. I would stay there again in the future because of the location and because it is overall a lovely place. Rooms are comfortable and service is good.

Enjoyed our stay in this most convenient and pleasant inn. Try not to stay on 4th floor since only one elevator goes there and it isn't in a very convenient place. The rooms were very nice if a little expensive (might be because we were there for the Spoleto Festival. Ours was a nice size with a refrigerator and microwave hidden in an armoire. A lovely lounge and poolside casual dining. We had breakfast and it was just right.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room on the 4th floor - the rooms are fine but it is hard to get to.

What a great place for our 25th anniversary. The inn was more like a boutique hotel. The front desk staff always friendly and assisted in getting a dinner reservation at McCrady's. The bartenders helpful in recommending restaurants, things to do. Bellmen were great. Room, although small, was comfortable, exceptionally clean, and cozy. Breakfast by the pool...so nice and delicious. Everything such a great experience and convenient to all the city has to offer!!! Would definitely recommend to others!

This hotel was very clean and conveniently located. Check in was smooth and they telephoned us when our room was ready.
However, do not believe it when you read in some reviews that the construction going on next door is from 10-4pm. Our room faced the construction site and they were going full force by 7:30 AM. Heavy equipment, pounding, yelling, and drilling is the sound we awakened to. I'm sure the hotel wasn't full and management shouldn't even utilize these rooms unless absolutely necessary. We might return but not while there's construction next door.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The construction next door is sporadic and we never know when and if they are working each day. I am sorry for the unpleasant wake-up call. I hope this incident does not deter your from visiting us again in the future. Thank you.
